Exact schedule coming in a few minutes. Ty can pick early if he likes, but it isn't due until January 4th. Remember, teams are only required to draft on their assigned day. If a team picks early, it does not obligate the next team to do the same. Any missed picks will be moved to the end of the draft. If a team fails to select again (which means they've likely abandoned the team), then the top available player from the 2015 Summer Draft will be drafted for the team (unless doing so is an obvious misstep and a different player should be drafted).

Pittsburgh and Tampa Bay are reversed on the spreadsheet. Tampa should be picking before Pittsburgh based on Tampa still being unable to win the Wild Card game. I posted the correct drafting order on the Winter Draft thread.

With no consensus pick here, I may need the entire 12 days to figure it out. This is tough. Who to pick, who to pick?
And I am always in favor of Jim getting hosed.

I know Moncada was the obvious choice, but there was still another guy I want so that made the decision harder than it had to be. I fully expect the other guy to get drafted today by Frisco or whoever drafts third.

I'm really hoping it's Espinoza or I totally missed someone. Gotta take a potential front line starter. Always. My young pitchers always blow their arms out - so I've got that going for me.
Is he Yordano Ventura with better feel?

This is exactly how I saw the top 3 picks going. Its going to be real interesting from here on out.

Espinoza was the other option I was considering. I think a front line starter is more valuable than a 2B, but with TINSTAAPP and a Mike Trout comparison for Moncada, I had to take him first.
I agree with Matt though, that's exactly how I envisioned the first three picks, and any deviation would've been a mistake by Travis, Matt, or myself.

Not sure why I had my hopes up that Espinoza had fallen through the cracks enough to make it to me at 7.

These picks really started moving once Ty stopped Zimming up the draft.

PS And I have no idea who these first 3 guys are, although I do like the OBP of the guy Matt took at #3. To think that almost everyone not only knew these guys- but knew the order in which they would go- blows my mind on multiple levels.
The guys I look at are so, so far removed from these types of guys that I don't even need to worry about my grinders being picked until at least pick #14, when Kenneth J. Kelly, Esq. is up. He likes grinders too.

This being my first draft of any sort, i am glad to see I'm on the right page. I had those 3 guys as my top 3 too.

I had the first 2, but Robles wasn't my 3rd. There are a couple of guys I like better there. Unfortunately I am sure that even if most (all except Jim) had my guys outside your top 5 they are almost assuredly in your Top 27 and not likely to make it to pick 28.

Not knowing who Robles is, is a defensible mistake. Not knowing who Espinoza is, is not. He's maybe the hottest young pitcher in baseball who is being compared to Pedro Martinez quite often. But not knowing who Yoan Moncada is, makes me doubt your baseball fandom and ability to run a team. He's a top 10 prospect. That would be like Miguel Sano being available and you having no idea who he is.

I think Jim purposefully drafts 2nd rate guys, so he can stay right behind me in the standings. He likes the view.
Wiggle, wiggle, Jimmy. Wiggle, wiggle.

I had Moncada-Espinoza first and second on my list as well, like most people did by the sound of it (except Jim). But I had Robles further down. If I were making a list to publish, Robles would have been third, but as for the players I personally like to draft, he would've been lower. Still probably Top 8 though.
I'm starting to think that the player I wanted won't get to me. Drafting 29th sucks.

I couldnt find anybody that I thought was close to Robles, Im really curuious to see who Joe and Hayes would want instead (once their drafted)? Still good players left, but I think last years winter draft had more depth to it (or maybe I just researched last year alot more than I did this year). I would have rather had one of Moncada/Espinoza, but I never was able to convince myself one of them would fall. I think Robles has as much upside as them two, but also has a lower floor then them. Im hoping for a Starling Marte with a better eye...

I'm not worried about my ability to run a team. I have one of the higher win totals in the league over the past 5 years, despite having one of the smaller payrolls during that time. I'm able to fill most of my spots internally without having to rely on any free agents. And despite not knowing the Yoan Moncadas of the world, I've apparently drafted well enough that I have a few All-Stars on my current roster to show for it. I'll learn who the next Yoan Moncada is the next time I have to pick at the top of the draft, which shouldn't be any time soon.
In other words, go fuck yourself Ty.
