09- Brady shoemaker OF/1B 10- Carlos Perez c 11- Salvador Perez c 12- Jorge soler of 13- Shae Simmons rp 14- Enrique Hernandez 2B/of 15- odube herrera of
Only one really bad pick so far. Perez needs a good year this year and take over the catching duties in LA Shouldn't have traded Salvy Soler needs to explode or be traded to get on the field more cubs have to many OFers Simmons needs to get healthy this year had a solid rookie year Hernandez needs to take control of 2b in LA , should still be nice utility player. Herrera needs some help in philly to bump his # up. Hopefully will be solid def.
I have mainly used he winter draft to fill needs for the upcoming year. And he summer to fill depth. 6 out of 7 in the MLB I'll take it. I hit big on Reed now I need some pitchers to over achieve.

This does sound like fun.. 2010-C. Austin Romine 2011-3B. Miguel Sano 2012-LHP. Justin Nicolino 2013-OF. Max Kepler 2014-RHP. Alberto Tirado 2015-SS. Willy Adames 2016-OF. Victor Robles
I draft for upside in the winter, Romines a backup catcher if he can stay healthy, traded him in a package for Hanley Ramirez years ago. Sano is a god damn stud. Nicolino is having trouble missing bats but hes young still (23) and has a really good changeup. Kepler finally broke out last year, and looks like he has a good chance of playing everyday in minnesota. Tirado didnt turn into the arm I was expecting, converted to a reliever and then traded for Ben Revere at the deadline last year, if his control/command tighten up he could be a force in the end of the pen due to his nasty stuff. Adames and Robles are both top 100 prospects.
Only time will tell if these guys pan out or not, there all still so young anything can happen.

Love the Cotton pick. I was surprised he lasted as long as he did. I think he will likely end up in the bullpen, just because of the organization he's in, but it's also just as likely that they trade him for a ML piece and he goes to a team that keeps him in the rotation. I had him about #6 on my list, and the only reason he wasn't in the top three remaining is because of those questions.

Love the Clevinger pick. He was my primary and somewhat realistic target in this draft. I see some Jake de Grom comps with him. Good pick I think.

Here goes. This might be ugly. 2009: Simon Castro, SP (I don't know what I was thinking, he went 10-6 in Hi-A, still not a good enough reason to draft him. traded.) 2010: Yorman Rodriguez, OF (Was shooting high upside, never happened, traded.) 2011: Taylor Green, 3B (I remember he had a decent ZiPs for that season, crap afterwords, traded.) 2012: Tom Wilhelmsen, RP (Useful for that season, avg reliever since then, controversial pick at the time, good ZiPs, qualified but rules changes no longer allow guys like him to be picked, traded.) 2013: Raimel Tapia, OF(Still liking this pick, nothing to show from it yet but I'm still hopeful, still on team!!) 2014: Duane Underwood, SP (Still with team and still believe he will be a major league SP) 2015:
No star players but two guys I got a season out of in Green/Wilhelmsen and the other two I was able to trade instead of having to drop them (I think, Castro isn't on the spreadsheet when I searched for him).

My winter history-
2010: Anthony Rizzo- My first ever draft pick in the league. I watched a bunch of great names fly off the board and he was sitting there so I took him. This one has worked out pretty well.
2011:Carlos Martinez- Kind of a no-brainer. Traded in a package for Miguel Cabrera
2012: Bruce Rondon- There were better picks to be had but I thought this guy was a sure fire closer. Still waiting on him to mature with injuries and performance issues clouding his future.
2013: Francisco Mejia- Switch hitting catcher with some pop and a gun. Only prospect I've ever drafted and watched live in minor league action. Decent season last year in A ball as a 19 year old. Catching prospects are the worst so I'll just ride it out with this one
2014: Ozhaino Albies- He kept falling to me and I was wondering if I was the only guy who thought he was a prospect so I was worried he might of been a bad pick but quickly after selecting him, Kiley McDaniel went nuts about him and then he put together a nice 2015 season to become a top prospect. Expecting good things for years to come.
I've been pleased with my winter drafts so far, we'll see who the 2015 draftee will be shortly.

I really like all of the last handful of picks, Im a big fan of Cotton, Clevinger, Mckenzie, Paulino and Knapp. I was hoping Knapp and or Mckenzie would slide through and I might have a chance at them over the summer. Nice boring as hell pick Jeff...

Thanks, Matt. I think Knapp is the right pick for my slot, but I'm not really sold on the bat or glove yet. Hoping his second half was at least somewhat real.

Love the Clevinger pick. He was my primary and somewhat realistic target in this draft. I see some Jake de Grom comps with him. Good pick I think. That's basically what I said to Sean last night on the phone. I didn't expect Clevinger or McKenzie to be around as late as they were. After Brian took Paulino I had a good feeling about one of them being there when I picked. I would have been happy with either guy, Tom just made the decision easy by taking McKenzie first. It's been a good draft so far. A few guys went a little earlier than I thought they would, but I can't say there's been a bad pick. Good job guys.

I don't know whether to be happy or sad that after 20 picks my #3 guy in the draft is still sitting there.

I don't believe you are allowed to critique anyone on the subject of league etiquette until at least 2017.

Rondon is a steal there.

Yeah. Rondon was about 5th on my remaining players list. And he was only that low because his actual production isn't there yet. He's still all scouting. But still, the #1 player in his international class. I'll be interested to see what he does over the next couple years.

Ugh. De la Cruz was #2 on my list, and my top pitcher. I hate this time of the draft, when the playoff teams are all taking players. Rarely does anyone sneak by until the Summer Draft or even the last couple picks.

Pete O'Brien? The same guy with a 234/276/462 projected line, and a -11 in LF? Isn't he also projected for negative WAR this year? Pittsburgh is the only team left that I don't worry might take the player I want.

Sorry guys. Just found out that my grinder is too grindery to be drafted age-wise. Will have to re-visit my other options, and have pick in tonight.
And Peter O'Brien is still going to be awesome. You just wait.

Man. Too bad the real life Pirates didn't come to terms with Paul De Jong in 2014. Looks like the dude tore it up for his Cards' debut in 2015.
