Just a heads up. I have a lot today at school so at best the pick will be in tonight, probably tomorrow at the earliest.

I didn't realize Antonio Alfonseca had kids... Well, he had his needs. It's not like he could do the Five Knuckle Shuffle or anything. No, he did one better #SixKnuckleShuffle

Pick is posted. I have been following Sanchez since his debut in 2015. I figured I couldn't put off drafting him any longer. I think he has a lot of upside.

Make that four straight of my realistic targets off the board. I have two left that I like, and a few others that I'd be okay with.

I didnt think I could wait on him any longer. I got lucky in past winter drafts with international signings (Mejia, Albies) so I was ready to continue that trend.

Sweet! Only five more days until I have to pick. I'm going to go back and delete all non-picks from this thread. Just so ya know.

I hope you have to undergo an emergency root canal on Tuesday and you miss your pick.

There's like four people that know who I'm picking. I'll text one to post it.

I'm the same guy who made a trade and bought an auto baseball card while in the delivery room with my wife last July 1st while she was in labor. Don't doubt my priorities.

I had five guys I was looking at. 1 SP, 1 SS, and 3 OF. Woodruff was the only other player I had in the same tier as those five. So when his projection came out and then Brock's as well, I had to pull the trigger. My rotation is already my weak spot. No true ace, but at least it'll be consistent from top to bottom. If my hitters come to play I will compete in the division again.
I liked Woodruff as someone who had really thrived under pro coaching. I felt he had the upside of a #2 or maybe good #3. Wasn't expecting a league average ERA+ for an SP so soon.

Isn't a ownerless team supposed to draft the highest non-drafted player from the previous MLB draft?

I must admit that I didn't know of either Minter or Taveras before today. So, I suppose it was worth the wait. I was down to 4 guys on my wish list and there was 4 picks pending in front of me. Now I have only myself to blame, as I will be getting one of the guys I actually wanted.

**The committee will use the current (if during the Summer) or last completed MLB Draft to draft for unowned teams. The committee will select the next available drafted player for the unowned team, unless the Committee feels there in an obvious better choice available.
I think this was updated last year or the year before

Isn't a ownerless team supposed to draft the highest non-drafted player from the previous MLB draft? Typically yes. But we've stated before that if we feel there is an obviously better prospect out there that makes a team more desireable, we would take that player instead.

I've got a guy I need to contact about joining I've just been busy lately. But I did want to wait until after their pick as well because I thought it would be difficult to try to acclimate a new owner while also saying "you have a draft pick in 3 days".

No problem, I had Tavares as #2 on my current list so I agree he is probably better served taking him than whoever is up next from prior draft.

I enjoyed waiting 5 days for Shawn's draft pick, only to see him take a minor league reliever. Donnie Joseph (and every GM drafting after him) approve of this strategy.

I like the Romero pick, one of the list of four that I was down to targeting. I hope the Puds don't take my guy.

So the list of guys I thought were realistic was some amalgamation of -
Toles Strahm Romero Diaz Woodruff Sanchez Tavares
7 of the last 8 picks, and I was really high on Romero. Good job, boners. I have one other guy on my list but want to look him over one more time.
