I own Lambert in my other league but just couldn't bring myself to double down on a Rox pitcher. He looks like a good one so far.

I doubt Robert California ever saw Matt Kevin's draft shenanigans. JIm

I would have been drafting Healy at 4:3 had he still been there. I was trying to swear off of ever drafting a 1b again, but the guy has a long shot chance of staying at 3b and he can certainly hit. Not much left in this draft and I think he's as good a pick as any other option out there still. Nice pick Nats.

Healy was locked in as my 3.15 pick. I planned to take him at 2.28 but thought He was more under the radar than Chang. That really sucks. I not only miss my guy but he goes to a division rival to boot.

Have had OF Steven Moya on my radar for the past 2 seasons. Tons of raw power, but his abysmal minor league BB:K always kept me away. Could be a huge upside pick, if he can ever get his plate discipline straightened out.

My pick at 2.15, Brock Stewart, is getting the call. He will be starting for the Dodgers on Wednesday. From HiA to the Majors in about 3 months.

I love the Steven Duggar pick, I was considering taking him at 3.16 but my depth of outfielders may have pried me in a different direction. I was also thinking about German Marquez, but in good conciseness I couldnt take back to back Rockies pitchers...

He's not just a normal 24 year old. He spent three years of college as an infielder, and did not move to the mound until his senior year. So he was a 4 year college player, meaning he wasn't even drafted until he was 22.5 years old. He was just drafted two years ago, meaning he only needed two years in the minors before making his first start. By comparison, someone like Max Scherzer** was drafted about a month before his 22nd birthday, and made his first MLB start two seasons later. Same timetable as Stewart, Stewart just spent an extra year in college. **I am not comparing Scherzer and Stewart's talent level, only their age.

I love the Steven Duggar pick, I was considering taking him at 3.16 but my depth of outfielders may have pried me in a different direction. He's been hitting the ball pretty well in the last month. His BB-K ratio has worsened in that time, but his batting average has gone up.

I could use some guys who can pop up in the next couple years.

I like that Abreu pick there at 3:15. In my opinion, the remains of this draft are pretty well picked over, but Abreu offers some potential there. He was one of 3 names on my short list at 4:03, but I didn't even think of getting bold and trading up. To the victor go the spoils. Nice pick.

Thanks, Mark. I figured Abreu would probably be there at 3.20 but I really like the arm. So I made the move to get him. Now let's see if he can reign in that heat.

Can't argue with that Jimenez pick either. I don't remember a draft being this picked over by mid-third round, so getting any pitcher, starter or reliever, with two plus-plus pitches is a good pick. My target list just got smaller again. 6 players of interest left, or I'm trading the pick if they're gone.

I had been watching Jimenez, trying to decide where he should slot in this draft. This seems like as good a spot as any.

I-han, you better damn well make your pick. Because I know ConnorDog is locked and loaded with his, so the Pittsburgh Pirates are just waiting on you there, Sparky.
And if you don't make it soon, I'm going to warm up the back of my hand, and let it do the talking for me. You don't want that. The back of my hand talks loud.

That's funny, cause the back of his wife's hand is named "Francisco Cabrera" cause it hits him late and hard.

Otherwise, the next time our teams faced off, your team's collective taint would've looked like Poland after WWII. Total taintal destruction. JIm

Sorry. Just realized that I've been cross-checking the rosters at the start of the offseason, meaning some of the guys I had targeted were taken during the Winter Draft, which I forgot about.
In particular, Patrick, you can eat penis for selecting C Dom Nunez this winter. He was going to be my pick, you lover of intermediate-grade Showtime after-hours low-budget cinema.

Thanks ConnorDog. My heart skipped a beat when I saw the big Blue Jays logo with your pick. Normally I draft guys with higher K/9, but Greene was ranked BP#100 heading into the season, and the Blue Jays' #2 prospect. I figure when a guy ranked that highly is still available late 3rd round, it's best not to overthink it.

I was surprised that Kuhl was still available. Gives me a potential rotation option for next year.

Crap. Mendoza was totally going to be my pick next round. I was hoping that since he isn't signing and is going to college instead would sway people away from him.

I was surprised that Kuhl was still available. Gives me a potential rotation option for next year. I think this is where being a fan of the real-life team offers a different perspective. Chad Kuhl is really an organizational arm, as opposed to a top prospect. When people talk about the Pirates' rotation of the future, they mention Cole, a resurrected Jameson Taillon, and Tyler Glasnow. Now with that being said, Kuhl has done absolutely everything in his power to work through the minor league system quickly. After you drafted him, I checked out his career statline, and it's even better than I thought. Further, the real-life Pirates' rotation is a far cry from the ELITE Rotation of Justice 2.0 that terrorizes opponents in the sim. So long story short, if Kuhl is even decent, he'll have a chance to stick there the rest of the season. Even though he's not a top prospect, I'm always a fan of no-name grinders with big minor league statlines, and I'm sure that I've drafted countless guys like Kuhl myself. Best of luck with him, JIm

I'm legitimately disappointed I didn't get Mendoza. I even bought an autographed card on ebay yesterday afternoon because I was so sure he was going to be a Cubbie. I fed you like four other names last night, Sean, and you didn't take the bait. You are dead to me, sir.

Im pretty happy to land Andrew Stevenson this late in the draft. Robles, Moniak and Stevenson are a nice trio of Center Fielders I was able to get in this years drafts. Im interested to see how his hit tool plays at AA, regardless of how his contact and eye progress his speed and defense in center should get him to the bigs in some role.
