I pretty much had it narrowed down to Medeiros or Buehler here. I was pretty sure I was going to take Medeiros, but the more I read up on Buehler, to make sure he wasn't a better choice, the more uncertain I was. But as it stands, I think Beuhler may be the last of the underclassmen pitchers taken this year in the NSBL. I think all the remaining guys are stretches.
I am glad I got Medeiros here. I know why he dropped and players taken after him in real life were being taken over him here. There is fear that his size and arm slot will get him moved to the bullpen. There is a chance of that with any prospect, but I think the fact that he has a wipeout slider and a "bugs bunny" changeup will keep him in the rotation. I worry more about his command than his size. From what I've read, his slider may be one of the best pitches that any prep pitcher had this year.
But I was still hoping that Buehler would fall to my next pick. I wanted a middle infielder in this draft, but since my top three options were drafted already, I was hoping to clean up on pitching.
I have read that Riley Ferrell may have the "biggest" arm in the draft next year. He touches 99 already and has a great slider. There are rumors that he has been improving his changeup and that TCU will try him in the rotation next year. That's what I am hoping for. He is only a bit over 6'0" as well, but I think he could be a #2 type starter if given the chance to, and if not, then a great closer. I almost took him last Winter, but wanted to see if he started or closed this year.

I don't agree. I can name 2 pitchers in next years draft that aren't stretches and are just as good as the others already drafted (excluding Kirby, Matuella, and Ferrell who I feel are the top 3 by a good margin). If I had another pick later then for sure there would be another selected. Only because I'm assuming by the 4th rd the last couple minor league pitchers I value ahead of them should be drafted.

Riley Ferrell doesn't belong in that group. He has a great arm, but Kirby and Matuella have far fewer question marks.

Ferrell being in that group is debatable. That wasn't my point. My point was there is still at least a couple pitchers that are just as good as the rest.

Jay, Jeff just straight up called out your NCAA and prep knowledge there. He did.
You best protect your rep!

Lol jim
My picks speak for themselves. I'm not one to throw out names. 2 reasons. 1 don't want to put prospects on other ppls radar. 2 i would feel bad if someone lost out on a player they wanted later in the draft because a prospect got thrown out there by someone who doesn't even have any picks left lol

I like the Blake Taylor pick too. Command and mechanics have been an early concern, but this is a lefty you can wait on.

I think Gonsalves has a chance to be a stud. Poor decisions on his part kept him from being an earlier pick in the draft last year. Hopefully he is good to go, has been off to a good start this season.
Really like the Ramsey, Ramirez, Asher, Streich picks right before me. All were on my short list for this pick.
I wish I had room and the ability for about 10 more picks. There is still quite a list of guys I'd love to have.

I like Walker and if I didnt already have Miguel Cabrera and Anthony Rizzo, I would have taken him with my pick. I was maybe going to jump back into the 4th to take him as well.

I was ready to take Feliz in the 2nd round but Kopech was still there so I went with him. I think he's underrated and should be a quality pitcher. I wanted to take him again in the 3rd but I felt the team would benefit from some infield depth instead of another pitcher.

I had Imhof on my list for consideration at 4.05. He has nothing that stands out as great, except he gets great results. Every time I saw him pitch, he impressed. He's big, deceptive and LH. That right there is enough to push the odds in his favor. I would like to see 20-25 lbs put on that stick frame of his. I think he's a RP, but it would be cool to see him surprise the scouts and make it as a SP. I like the pick. He's a player I will root for.

I was all ready to take Kaprielian with my last pick but at the last moment I talked myself out of it and went with Imhof. The last time I talked myself out of a UCLA underclassman I ended up drafting Brad Emaus instead of Garrit Cole.
Nice pick Ty.

Damn. I had deGrom targeted with pick 4.05 since the draft started. Nothing sexy about the pick, but a kid that just keeps showing composure, decent stuff and improvement every year. I think he'll be a solid #4 for years. On the cheap, that's a good pick there and allows for spending elsewhere.

When you have 2 SP's in on their 2nd TJ surgery’s you need cheap options that you can rely on.

Tom, Kevin Siegrist was my 6th and final draft target. I swear, if you don't trade him to me as soon as he is eligible, I am going to find where you live, drive to your house, and karate chop you in the throat.

How many times do I have to finish above you in the division to make that list?

I was really hoping to get a good hitting shortstop in this draft, but I never found any I liked. All the shortstops either can't field well enough to stay at SS or have questionable bats. So I went with a third SP. I think JK has a better shot at staying in the rotation than either of the last two I drafted.

You 3 made the Honorable Mentions list:
6. Kenneth J. Kelly, Esq. (Davis overpay, general nefariousness, continued possession of Tony Cingrani) 7. Joe Clark (Can't put him higher than 7th; his dominance over me is highly overblown, plus the league's existence is solely reliant on him) 8. ScottDJRoss/Karri (Won't put higher for real-life fear that Scott will murder me)

Dang I'm only 5th. I'll just have to keep winning the division then. Greinke says hi.

Does Samardzija say hi too? I can take Greinke. Frankly, if you wanted to screw me utterly fatally, you would've allowed me to be saddled with both Greinke and King Felix, but thankfully you let me off the hook.
But I swear, if Jeff Samardzija says hi as well, I'm going all CAPS LOCK on you.
