I don't believe Logan Allen is draft eligible. If I finally understand the draft rules correctly, he should be FA eligible, as this is his age 26 season.

2 years in a row that I've taken a relief arm in the second round. Hope this one pans out better. Reports suggest that Uribe is destined for the back of a bullpen, can hit 103 with his fastball and has a 2 plane slider for his knockout punch. Just needs to keep his control in line.
It basically came down to not liking the other comparable rated players as much due to position. The other guys I had in this area were 2b only types, back of the rotation ceiling, long shot lotto tickets, and outfielders. Those are all positions I feel I don't need right now. So Uribe was the pick by process of elimination. There is an enticing 2b prospect still out there though, but with Yorke, Massey, and possibly Guidry all being 2b, I didn't need another.

Uribe has been on my list for what seems like forever, but I just don't draft relief arms unless they show some command over their pitches. Uribe's arm and his stuff are overwhelming, but he's a classic "thrower." I thought he would hold until Summer so everyone could see some more of him. I wish you (and him) luck.

I'm popping in to rant for a moment, then will be gone, as I feel like week 1 of Tier 1 got so ridiculous so fast I'm not jumping in.
I thought I would play the draft safe, and draft an RP that I really liked in the 2nd round. I didn't want to reach in the 1st, but felt sure few people knew about Ben Joyce. Then not only did my arch-nemesis Patrick/Matt draft him, but like 3 GMs liked his post. I always get my pick down to 2 guys, take the other guy, then the guy I wanted goes later, and everyone fawns over the GM who took him. That makes Jim angry.
Then, when I e-mailed Patrick and politely told him to go get bent, he writes a sweet response back with the salutation of "Cheers." I know know know I was playing into his hands by getting angry, but that "Cheers" drove Jim to nuclear levels of fury. Three weeks later, I still feel my blood pressure rising every time I think about that pick.
And now early in the week on a school night, I'm up until almost midnight doing last minute research because Patrick took my man. I'm livid.
