Steele Walker - OF - 25 yr old - Texas Rangers Walker’s cut has big lift through the zone even though it’s a pretty compact swing. He hits the ball hard (43% of his balls in play in 2019 were hit over 95 mph according to a source) and I like his chances of making a viable amount of contact more now than I did with the old swing. There’s 30-homer power here and a chance Walker blows up now that he has the opportunity to play at an age-appropriate level. Eric L. - Fangraphs Mark, I've actually had Steele Walker on my Big Grinder Board for some time. I just don't see anything noteworthy about him, so I'm surprised he's up to the Rangers' #5 prospect. His minor league OPS is .762, and he's 24 at AA, so it's not like he's young for each of these levels. (Although I guess we need to re-evaluate age based on the lost Covid year.) That OPS would be passing if he stole a ton of bases or played CF full time, but he doesn't. I hope he works out for you- especially because you're in the AL, and that does not effect my Sizzle Dynasty in the slightest. I've just never been able to pull the trigger. JIm

JIm I'm sorta with Jim here (dude, this is happening too much. Maybe we need to cut down on the dong sharing pics?). I like Walker and have since his draft year. He's always been on my radar but I've always just found guys that have a tool that is better that puts them above him on my list. He's someone who I would probably target in trade negotiations when I have a limited number of players I can pick from, and I think he's going to become a major leaguer. Just have doubts about the ceiling. And I'm all about the ceiling.

I don't think I disagree with either of you. He's been on my list for two years now and when I was listening to Eric on one of the podcasts, he said he was a believer in the changes he's made to his swing and he believes in talking with Texas scouts that Texas has created a path to him potentially getting a future spot in LF. This reminded me so much of my Mitch Haniger pick years ago and my giving up on him before he broke through. At pick 3-10, I think that's a perfect spot to gamble on the guy. If there's 30 HR ceiling and the floor is a 4th OF, I think this is the spot to do it.

Waiting 16 hours, then picking one of my top 5 from my draft board?
Yup. The absolute worst.
Nate has frankly been kind of the worst for the past year or so now. He used to have moxie.

With the 7th pick in the 3rd Round the Seattle Mariners select Huascar Ynoa, SP out of the Atlanta Braves Org. Tigers are up next! Damn nice pick Pat. Didn't realized he was available but if I had, I would have been trying to trade back in sometime in Round 2 for him. Agreed. I'm actually shocked that he wasn't drafted like 3 years ago (which was my assumption).

Looking to move down or sell the pick and add future assets. Would want a future 2nd to move out completely. Cash and/or future 4th to move down.

I'm just preemptively going to call Colby the worst. Not because I think he'll make us wait forever, but just because he's an agent of chaos and needs to be stopped.

I want a good Draft Cuckholding, dammit. If it has to happen to an NL Central rival, so be it.

I still don't think it's ever happened in the Summer. So I'm gonna keep emailing some owners to remind them when they're on the clock.

The pick is in. Things I don't recommend doing during a pandemic: Having a baby, starting a business, working 2 full time jobs, and building a house. Also my dachshund appears to have blown his back out over the weekend so its been a fun monday.

Congrats on the little one too! Now, continue to have your Red Legs play opossum while the Pirates remain in control of the NL Central. Muhahaha. Xoxo, JIm

White Socks continue to corner the southpaw market and select LHP. Ken Waldichuk, New York Yankees organization.

I don't think it affects anything, but my pick is marked as being made by Cleveland, not Tampa Bay here 27. Cleveland Indians - Will Taylor, Dutch Fork High School (SC) 28. Chicago White Sox - Bryan Lavastida, C, Cleveland Guardians 29. Kansas City Royals - 30. Arizona Diamondbacks -

I think Guardians is one of the worst names for a professional sports team that I've ever seen.
I would prefer we keep "Indians" here in NSBL, unless some GMs would throw a conniption over that.

Question:
Who all is draft eligible now? Did we change it to anyone 26 and older, regardless of years of service is a free agent? I think so but can't remember.

Pretty sure we did, because I had a Round 2 pick not permitted because he just turned 26 this year. If you check earlier in this thread, you can confirm.

I'm only on my phone so I'm limited to the mobile site. But yeah, 26 regardless of years in league or minors.

Sean is the guy that would trade Park Place and Boardwalk so he could own all the browns and light blues on the bottom of the Monopoly board.
