He's aware. Hope he gets it in before the end of his clock, or before Cleveland picks

I think he might be doing some last minute research. He told me he's been real busy. I know what you're thinking, "Hey, he only has three letters in his first name. What about all the time he saves every day while writing and signing his name?" Well, I'm here to tell you, it's not nearly as much as you might think. Even Jim can attest to that fact.

Since Ian so rudely took my guy, I wouldn't mind moving back or trading 2.02 for a late 1st next year. I got a busy day at work so if I do make my pick it probably won't be until later this evening, so sorry in advance. I do have one guy in mind, but he ain't glitzy or nothing.

Cleveland selects Josh Winder SP, Minnesota Twins organization Dan, this pick puts Cleveland over the roster limit. Please waive someone by posting it in waivers.

I had time this morning to catch up on the roster sheet. Waivers, trades, free agents, draft picks. It should all be there.
As usual, let me know if you see an error and we'll fix it.

Nice job, Shawn! I personally like to work in a few A+-AA players who are raking, but in terms of real-life draft talent, that's a heck of a class. Time to get the Yankees back to the prominence they deserve!

I was hoping Norby would make it to 2.24. Didn't think he'd get popped this early.

If I’m going to be good so will the Pirates Let hope it works Woah WOAH. Easy there, friend. Easy. That's expecting an awful lot out of one of the consistently most terrible development systems in all of MLB. There's a reason I don't draft any real-life Pirates JIm

Oh man oh man. This is my first COVID-affected pick, because were it not for the lost year, this dude is making his MLB debut at age 24. As is, he just turned 26 yesterday, so this is vintage Jim "Grinder" status. I wanted to wait for the 3rd round on him, but I know he is going to get plucked at some point- especially after his 2-hit shutout yesterday. Pirates select SP Tylor Megill, New York Mets. JIm Megill is a FA and therefore can not be drafted per the rules. "The Summer Draft pool will include all MLB Draft eligible players for that year, all eligible minor league players not currently claimed by an NSBL team, and Major League players who do not yet qualify as free agents." Megill is technically a FA right now and can be signed by any team. His draft eligibility has lapsed. Sorry.

True story
Since all birthdays are considered to be 1/1 he was 26 per NSBL rules and was eligible to be signed as a free agent which in turn made him ineligible for the draft.
Sorry Jim

My current pick is being discussed in a trade offer. I should know more in the next 2 or 3 hours and it'll either be gone or I'll pick. Thanks for your patience.

Was surprised Yorke was available. He was an overdraft last year, but was still the best high school hitter in CA and was a legit prospect. He's done nothing but hit in full season ball as a 19yo.

I like the Noah Miller pick by KC. I thought he might slip further in the draft.

With the 7th pick in the 3rd Round the Seattle Mariners select Huascar Ynoa, SP out of the Atlanta Braves Org. Tigers are up next! Damn nice pick Pat. Didn't realized he was available but if I had, I would have been trying to trade back in sometime in Round 2 for him.

Here's a quick overview of my favorite picks from rounds 1 and 2.
1.02 - WAS - Jackson Jobe - RHP - 60 A nice blend of things I value. Velo, action, projection, and a strong 60+ baseball name. I like pitching more than hitting, so Jobe would have been my #1.
1.15 - LAN - Jordan Wicks - LHP - 50 I thought he was underdrafted IRL. Best LHP in the draft on my board. Should move fast and has a floor of multi-inning or high-leverage RP.
1.18 - DET - Michael Harris II- OF- 50 There are not a lot of unclaimed/undrafted 50s, but Harris had a 50 grade from me this year. His swing makes me believe that his game power will only get better and might be under-estimated by the gaggle of evaluators.
1.25 - TEX - Aaron Zavala - OF - 45 Another player I thought was underdrafted IRL. I think the power is legit and that the swing is good 'nuf. Patience is good and exit velos are legit too.
2.10 - SFG - Jud Fabian - CF - 45 Look, I understand why he fell. I know the Ks are scary af. Dude's name is Jud Fabian and he smashes baseballs and catches baseballs. If his eye can be tuned and his swing adjusted, he is the caliber of athlete that can become a star.
2.20 - OAK - Wes Kath - 3B - 45 I like all the reports. I like all the video. I was hopeful he would slip further in our draft. The swing is too good, so he plays at all the corners in my eval.
2.22 - LAN - Reed Trimble - OF - 45 As always, Rich is basically reading my draft board even though I purposely shut him out during the draft process these days. Another quality mix of tools, skills, and baseball name.
I'll do rounds 3 and 4 when they complete. Just wanted to see if this post generated any discussion.

Steele Walker - OF - 25 yr old - Texas Rangers
Walker’s cut has big lift through the zone even though it’s a pretty compact swing. He hits the ball hard (43% of his balls in play in 2019 were hit over 95 mph according to a source) and I like his chances of making a viable amount of contact more now than I did with the old swing. There’s 30-homer power here and a chance Walker blows up now that he has the opportunity to play at an age-appropriate level.
Eric L. - Fangraphs

I flat out took Jud Fabian off my boards. I'm not looking for a poor man's Jeren Kendall. He may end up being a decent player, but I have significant doubts that he makes enough contact to do so. I think a lot of MLB teams had him pretty far down too, which is why he dropped to the 2nd round and why he decided not to sign and go back to school.

For anybody interested in moving down. I'm willing to move up from 4.22 (I have 4.23 as well) for as long as my guy is available. I'm not hugely in on the guy, this is more being antsy, so my price is not exorbitant.
The type of deal I would be looking for would be along the lines of packaging the picks for your pick and a 4th in 2022, adding some cash on top of my pick, or adding a lesser player (e.g. Lazaro Armenteros, Logan Shore, Fernando Romero, Dennis Santana, etc.)
Shoot me a message if you're interested
