Round 4 Favorite Pick: Pick 4.07 - D.J. Davis - San Francisco GiantsCan't believe Davis lasted this far. If I didn't have my head stuck in a hole, I probably would have taken him at 3.11 over Phegley, and definitely would have taken him over Hoffman at 4.06. Love the tools, and it's encouraging to see the tools maturing into production so early. Honorable Mentions: Hunter Green (4.17 - New York), Kyle Smith (4.30 - Toronto)Round 3 Least Favorite Pick: Pick 4.29 - Jin-De Jhang - Toronto Blue JaysThis pick may make me look stupid in a couple years, but Jhang is just so far away, doesn't get rave reviews behind the dish, and will likely have to be a 1B if he can't stick behind the dish. I guess at the very end of the draft is the right time to take somebody like this though, so it's not all bad. Honorable Mentions: Brian Dozier (4.14 - Texas), Zach Borenstein (4.10 - Kansas City)Neither can be called particularly awful picks in the 4th round, but Dozier has such a limited upside, and Borenstein gives me pause since he's 23 in high-A and plays half his games at Inland Empire. . Nothing for nothing, I selected BRian Dozier, the current 25 yr old starting 2b for the Twins, not the Hunter Dozier you might be referencing?

I know, I just see Dozier's upside as a really good utility guy or fringe starting 2B, so that's why I said limited upside. It's not a terrible pick though in my opinion, he should be a useful piece for a few years at a low cost.

I don't really know Texas's situation, bit a few year ago I passed several guys with more upside to take Daniel Descalso because I needed middle infield depth right then. Not a bad pick, but we're all entitled to our opinion.

Exactly, it's going to give him a few years of a very cost controlled utility/fringe starting 2B, but the upside for too much more than that isn't very much. You could certainly do a lot worse in the draft; it just seems like not many people did this year. Dozier's ranking speaks more towards the quality of the rest of the picks than a lack of quality in that specific pick.
