And my draft list is officially under attack. I guess that is my penalty for trading down
Nice get Travis.

I'm a big fan of that Eddie Butler pick. I saw him flying under the radar and had visions of him falling to me in round 3.

I had Butler on my watch list but I'm always suspicious of the Coors effect. When's the last time you've looked at the Rockies staff and saw a bonafide ace?

I agree about Coors but so much movement can occur between the time a guy is in Hi-A and he makes the majors.

Is Detroit going to autodraft Tim Anderson? With Brandon Crawford already on the roster, and Hunter Dozier and J.P. Crawford added via the draft, do they really need another SS? Or will the committee overrule and take somebody like Marco Gonzales, who was the next highest drafted?

I think it makes sense for them to take something other than a SS.

I would have voted for giving him Anderson. This isn't a fantasy draft where you immediately plug these guys into a lineup and need to fill out a set roster; amateur short stops rarely make it to the majors at that position.
It's not a big deal either way.

Love the Robertson pick He was pretty high on my list. Love the David Wright comparison with him.

I almost drafted Robertson instead of Nick Delmonico in the Winter draft. The fact that Delmonico had already done (have a successful season as a 19 yr old in Low-A) what Robertson hoped to do made me lean toward Nicky. But I'm glad I had a shot at drafting him this year.
I hadn't heard the David Wright comparisons. I had heard David Freese, and that's OK with me. Last year, it looked like the A's were going to move him to 3B for good, but so far he's played a pretty respectable SS this season without playing a single inning at 3B.

He's not a short stop, but he should be an above-average third baseman at the higher levels. I like him; very good all around hitter.

Love the Fisher pick by Cleveland. He was going to be my next pick. I figured he had better shot of being there late in the 2nd round that Polanco did (I could be wrong there though) so I went Polanco first.
Always nice to get one of the top two projected college bats from the next year's draft.
Now I have to find a back-up plan.

I didn't want to pull the trigger on Bregman so soon, but when Cleveland took Fisher, it moved Bregman to the top of my "I really want this guy" list. No homo. I planned on taking Bregman in the Winter Draft originally. There are other players out there I wouldn't mind having, but none that I would kick myself if I missed out on. Hopefully his Sophomore and Junior years go as well as his Freshman year (he was the National Freshman Hitter of the Year and the National Freshman Player of the Year Winner) and he becomes a Top 5 pick in 2015.
With Espinosa struggling IRL this year due to injury, and Rendon filling in nicely, I am not sure how long Espinosa is considered a starter. Cozart is picking it up in Cinci, but they have a couple Middle Infield prospects too, so I am starting to get worried about the future of my middle infield. That is the reasoning behind my Polanco and Bregman picks. Also, with Bregman being from New Mexico, I hold a soft spot in my heart for NM prospects (it was the deciding factor with my Blake Swihart pick two years ago).

I was deciding between Fisher and another OF I really liked, almost told myself to wait. But I had a feeling and took him. Although I've been told by a couple people that it was a reach, and I could have got him in the 3rd maybe the 4th. I didntsee that and now after I know Joe was wanting him just lets me know I was right. He would not have lasted.

Ooh. Like that Dietrich pick a lot. Somehow he totally missed my radar.
Lot of MLB-ready MINF being chosen this round.

Ooh. Like that Dietrich pick a lot. Somehow he totally missed my radar. Lot of MLB-ready MINF being chosen this round. JIm Thanks. With both Zimmerman and Plouffe being in the final year of their contracts, I needed to find someone I could plug in next year. He is struggling a little in the majors which makes him easier to miss, but his BABIP is real low and he is still showing power so I am hoping he has ZiPS next season to start. I know there are higher celing players out there, but Dietrich fits my needs better right now. I'll draft for ceiling with my next pick. Although Bregman might have been that pick if Joe hadn't stolen him.

Where is Rich, his time is expired (or do we still stop clock on weekends, I hate trying to keep up with rules in two leagues).

I don't believe the clock stops here any longer. I believe the Mets' GM is free to cuckold Rich, but luckily, I think he just got onto a plane, so Rich may have a few hours of overtime.

I know Rich was on this morning cause he posted a bunch of stuff. I sent him an email. We'll see who gets their pick in first.

The Jays are willing to trade down into the early 3rd round and add an extra pick if anyone is interested.

Is Rich's pick forfeited? Or moved to the end of the draft? What is the protocol here?

I'm pretty sure the only way Rich can regain the pick is if he posts a picture of his penis to the message board.
Unfortunately the rules do say the pick is gone, but I'm more than fine with simply putting forfeited picks at the end of the draft. Things come up in real life all the time, so I certainly don't see an issue with giving guys 2nd chances once the other picks are made.

Unfortunately it happens. My brother lost a pick 2 years ago.
Just got back on after a thunderstorm blew through here. Will make the pick shortly so we can get it moving.

Thank you Jim for that recognition!
I'm hoping Taylor continues the rest of the season like he has. I think he has a chance to be a contributer in all categories and have strong defensive ratings. I was debating him and a couple of pitchers (no surprise) but wasn't sure he'd make it much longer so went with the hitter.
