Sorry for the delay guys, I was at a game in Lake County last afternoon/night and didn't get home until around 2 AM. I'll make my pick shortly.

I was looking at Nick Williams too. Nice pick.

Like that Williams pick as well. Only concern I see right now is a 7:56 BB:K through 50 games at low-A. Otherwise, lot of potential there.

Yeah, I was kinda hesitant towards drafting williams for that reason, but i felt his overall potential was worth the risk this late in the draft. Love the Power/Speed combo

If his BB/K rate was reasonable I would have plucked him early in rd 2. I just kept pushing him down and holding back on taking him because of it. Hopefully he can improve that ratio. If he does I really like what he can be.

Bummed that Travis took Tom Murphy a few picks before me. He was going to be 1 of my 2 picks this round. Damn.

I like the Anderson pick. With the committee's decision to pass over him for Detroit and everyone taking a pass as well I felt safe in typing him onto my roster for one of my round ending picks. I must have jinxed myself. I really like the potential there and think there is more than just Best Athlete Available.
Good pick Jeff.

Thanks Hayes.
I honestly didn't even realize I had this draft pick until Travis emailed me about it after he finished selecting for Detroit (Thanks Travis!). If I had seen it, I probably would have waited on Newcomb for this spot (with Nick Williams in the previous selection). But I'm fine with the way things played out. Tim Anderson is a very good athlete with some offensive tools and a chance to stick at SS.

I like Patrick's pick of Sardinas. To get the #84-ranked prospect of 2013 in the 3rd round is a coup. Me personally, I was just a little disappointed in his .682 OPS, but he is only 20 playing High-A ball, so I think that's still a nice upside pick. I always think Patrick drafts well!

I also like the Sardinas pick and think he will hit enough. With a glove like that the floor is almost certainly utility man with plenty of upside.
Besides, as long as Neal Huntington and Jack Z remain employed, the all-glove SS will always have a home.

I pick 3 times coming up in the third round. I would have taken Sardinas with the second of those three picks for sure. Same with Williams too, so that's two guys crossed off the list.

I've been watching Sardinas closely and was convinced I'd draft him this summer. I passed as well due to the offensive issues so far - though given his age it doesn't bother me. I wanted to see just a bit more success first, but I jumped at Ronny Rodriguez earlier.
I like Tom Murphy's power as well. It should play in the field if he can't stick at C for whatever reason.

After getting named to the USA Futures Team rotation, then getting called up straight from AA to replace Dan Haren in the Nats rotation, I got nervous that Jordan wouldn't be there at 3.22. I don't expect a gem, but he's a heavy sinker, groundball inducing (60%+) SP who reminds me a lot of Charlie Morton. In my home park, the groundball pitchers are a must. I think I got a back end / swingman arm that should be a nice score at 3.22.

So comping to Charlie Morton is a positive thing now? JIm

With pick 3.24, I took Jose Peraza, the 19 yr. old SS from the Braves' organization. The kid can flat out run and even though he's 19, he's holding his own with the bat. I think he sticks at SS too.

With pick 3.25, I selected Mitch Haniger. I like the bat, the plate discipline and his ability to have the bat and glove translate to corner OF. i would have taken him in the 4th, but I screwed up and drafted an ineligible player.

Peraza looks like a prize and was my pick at the end of he round once Oakland snapped up Anderson. I initially was hoping he would fall into the 4th.

So comping to Charlie Morton is a positive thing now? JIm LOL, in NSBL life, yeah. He won 13 games with a sub 3.50 ERA and a 60% GB rate for my team last year. Anyone that can keep the ball in the park at Arlington is a good arm. Point taken though Jim.

I like that Haniger pick. He's been on my list since last summer, I was just never able to pull the trigger. I don't think he'll ever be a star, but should be a solid regular in his prime.
I had it narrowed down to two players for my pick, but due to me needing a catcher in my system I chose Plawecki. I don't expect the other player to make it through this draft though.

I almost took him last winter too. I said to myself that I would be taking him in the summer draft no matter what. I just planned it to be at 4.14 though. I love the changes he;s made to his swing. I agree, he's not going to be a star, but I will take a solid everyday player out of pick 85 of the draft. I see a Michael Cuddyer type player, with a high OBP but only 15-18 HR power. More athletic than Cuddyer though.

I love the way Patrick drafts. Love it. Whenever Patrick picks, I don't need to look at any naughty internet sites for the rest of the day.

Great choice by Atlanta there as well. Hard to go wrong with TB's farm system.

"With picks 29 and 30 of the 3rd Round the New York Mets select:
A.J. Jimenez - Catcher - Toronto Blue Jays Organization
Edwin Escobar - LHP - San Francisco Giants Organization"
Edwin Escobar was already selected. Pick 2.09 of this summer's draft.

That's what I get for failing to download the most recent roster. The pick has been corrected. Thanks for the heads-up.
