Giants select Kolby Allard LHP - Atlanta Braves draftee Damn. Allard was my target. Gotta reshuffle the board real quick. Pick will be made soon.

I had 3 of my targets from the 2015 draft class go off the board already, as well as Honeywell and De leon. I almost took Barnes in the Winter draft and wasn't going to miss out on him. A solid catcher defensively (31% career CS rate), a .297 .390 .433 .822 career batting line, more career Walks than K's (236-231) and such a good athlete that he can play 2B and 3B. In this age of where disciplined, athletic, great contact hitters are at a premium, I wasn't going to let him get by me. FWIW, he had already received at 2.2 WAR projection before the 2015 season began. He's in AAA for the first time and putting up a .289 .388 .453 .841 line. This guy is going to be an MLB regular somewhere imo.

He's been a very productive player at every minor league level offensively and defensively. Every year there's a guy that gets drafted and you wonder how they've been around that long and haven't already been taken. Barnes is one of those guys. Nice pick Mark.

Damnit. I was hoping one of the pitchers I wanted would drop to me. I figured at the very least, I'd be able to pop on Alec Hansen (to pair with Alen Hansen) late in the first round, but was worried that #25 overall might be a bit early for him. Never imagined he'd go Top 10, but if anyone was going to nab him, I'd have to figure it would be Connor or Jeff. Damnit. I now have one player left off my Tier 1 list. Gotta hope he falls to me.

I agree with the comment about guys that slip through the cracks too. The same thing happened in 2013 when, with the 14th pick in Round 4, I got Brian Dozier. He's turned into an absolute MLB stud 2B. He put up a 4.8 WAR last year and is already ahead of that pace this year. I think it might have to do with most of us looking for the shiny new toys in the current draft classes.

Just traded down a bit. Good draft so far, all the picks have been real solid! I was hoping Honeywell or Barnes would slide through the cracks, but I was dead wrong. Hoping my targets are still around later, but at this rate you never know....

Win win for Tim! Goes on his honey moon, and comes back with Tyler Jay on his team! That's what I said! He should be happy he almost got the wrong player. For those wondering, this is all Connor's fault. I was chatting with him about his AJ Puk pick and he mentioned that Detroit now gets Jay with the autopick. Being that Detroit was ownerless for so long, it sounded correct so I posted it. But Houston is our only ownerless team. We had a new GM that was supposed to take over, but he disappeared on us and didn't answer my email. There is a buddy at work who is a big baseball (Cardinals) fan that I am trying to introduce to the league so if he tells me he wants in and the rest of the committee approves, then he'll take over.

Oh great........a f$%#in' Cardinals fan in the division. Just another reason for me to hate that Houston franchise. Crack babies they are........the whole lot of them.

Love washingtons pick and a few of the SP. I only have one player that I want to pick left in the first round. Hopefully Boston will pass on him and pick some one else.

Am I the only one who targets a player, and the more they drop and get closer to me, the more I wonder "Wait. Why are they dropping? Am I overrating them? Should I be thinking third round and not first round for him?"

I like that Whitley pick a lot. He also happens to be from the town I was born in. Didn't get to see him this past year, as he was playing in a lot of traveling league games. The kid is extremely smart. He turned down going to Columbia in favor of a Wake Forrest commit. I hear he's a tireless worker and he sounds mature beyond his years for sure. You never really know how much catching up these NE kids have to do developmentally, but he seems like he won't be outworked. I would have taken him if he fell to 2.03, but I wasn't expecting that either. He'll be a fun one to follow. We don't get a lot of them drafted up in these parts of the country.

I really don't go for High School players, but since I have a ton of youth coming up I'm okay with taking a chance. Now I have to wait at least 3 years to even see if it was worth it.

I was going into the #6 pick wanting to get a college arm who I think has a chance to move through the ranks quickly. I think Jon Harris has the potential to do that and be a very solid SP in the majors. I have an idea as to what direction I'm going with my other 1st rounder.

Aside from 3 SP's in this current draft class, I had three minor league SP on the top of my draft board (Honeywell, de Leon and Garrett), then a huge drop-off from there. I had to give up a 4th round pick in 2016 to move up 14 slots, but I really saw at least 5 teams and 7-8 picks in front of me that he was a likely pick, so I decided to accept that cost. Before the draft started, I was determined to get Austin Barnes and 1 of those 6 SP in order to make this a successful draft. Still have four picks left in this year's draft, but I feel its already had some impact.

He would have gotten by me, my draft board is a mess this year, haven't had the time like normal and he wasn't even on my radar. Like the write-up I saw on him when I just looked him up.

I wanted to wait on Schwarz until my last pick but was worried someone else might have their eye on him during the College WS. I'll have to wait on him but hopefully he or Sisco will be my Salvy replacement when it comes time.

who gets married during the draft? What kind of baseball fans are we recruiting around here? Hahaha... It didn't cross my mind till the season started and by then it was too late. Early on in the relationship, I told her if/when we get married no October, March or Superbowl weakend for sports reasons, but at that time I wasn't in the league so draft wasn't nearly as big of a deal. Thanks for all the Congratulations and well-wishes! Sorry for any confusion/inconvenience about my pick, but Detroit is pumped to have Jomar Reyes in the fold! Young for level, killing it the past two seasons with the stick, unsure of position, but I am confident bat will play anywhere... And he is the first Oriole prospect I have ever drafted, which gives me another reason to hope he turns into a monster.

I was really shocked that Tyler Jay was still available. He wasn't even on my list, but I knew plenty about him. After Finnegan last season, I guess you can say I have a penchant for grabbing undersized LHP college pitchers. I also like the Sierra pick after me. He was on my list, but not too high since he hadn't been performing great this season. But he was great last year.

As a Pirate fan in real life, that scared the shit out of me.

Sierra was high on my list also. I wasn't too upset about the performance so far since I figured it would help him to drop to me.
