This season completely didn't go as planned. I figured I would be in the Wild Card hunt, instead I might be picking Top 5 next summer. I don't think I mis-evaluated my team, I just got shit sims from damn near all my guys.
Anyways, the only true expiring contract I have is Spencer Turnbull. RH Starting Pitcher. He is making 5.1 million this year with no option for next, so there is no buyout to worry about. I will cover all but 550k of the contract if you send me a 4th round pick either next year in return.
He was projected to have a 106 ERA+ this year, but it's just a shade under 4.50 for me. It comes down to homeruns. His K/9 is a little lower than projected, but so is his BB/9, so that's acceptable. But he was projected to be at 1 HR per 9 innings. Instead he is giving up 1 every 6 innings. I'm guessing the fact that I play in a smaller park is a big reason for that.
I'll also throw Giancarlo Stanton on the block. He has underperformed for me and may just need a new home. His contract for next year looks scary, but we can discuss that in the trade talks. 250/330/422 on the year, but he has been heating up.
And, despite me not wanting to do it cause he is a favorite of mine, I don't see me accepting Joey Gallo's 6th year so I might as well see if anyone is interested in a superb defensive RF who can also play CF (Av/224) with an excellent arm. He is hitting 193/315/444 on the year with 27 homers, which is 4th in the NL and probably 11th in the whole NSBL.
