CHASE UTLEY - 2B - Miami Marlins - Class of 2021Chase Utley played 13 seasons in the NSBL, was named an All-Star five times, and won three Silver Slugger awards, the 2010 AL MVP, and the 2009 World Series. Altogether, he played for 6 franchises (Oakland, Miami/Florida, Los Angeles Angels, Cleveland, Cincinnati, and two stints in Tampa Bay). He enters the Hall as a member of the Marlins franchise after signing his first free agent contract in Florida and sticking with them through the duration of the contract, his age 32-35 seasons. After starting his career in Cincinnati, he moved to Tampa Bay for a season and a half, grabbing his first Silver Slugger and All-Star appearance in 2007. He then moved to Cleveland, winning the 2009 World Series with the club, before being moved to the Los Angeles Angels. In his lone year in L.A., Utley won the AL MVP, hitting .320/.408/.531 with 28 HR, 98 RBI, 101 R, and 27 SB. Coming off his MVP, Utley signed with the Marlins where he made two All-Star teams and won his third Silver Slugger in his four season. He finished his career as a veteran leader, playing two seasons in Oakland, and returning back to Tampa Bay for two seasons to wrap up his career. All told he hit .275/.352/.440 with 1589 H, 322 2B, 185 HR, 867 R, 796 RBI, and 208 SB, good for a 115/119 OPS+/wRC+ and around 40 WAR for his career.

Fine. He can go in as a Marlin. But that MVP with the Angels definitely gives LA first runner-up!
