JHONNY PERALTA - SS - Los Angeles Angels - Class of 2020Jhonny Peralta enters the Hall of Fame as a member of the Angels after spending 5 full seasons and 2 partial seasons with the team. He also played for TB/PHI/NYM/BAL/SD/TOR in his 12 year career; a career filled with strong performance at the most difficult position in the infield. Peralta won three Silver Slugger awards and was named an All-Star three times. More advanced statistics appreciated his game quite a bit as well, posted a OPS+/wRC+ over 110 six separate times, and posted more than 4 WAR six times by today's methods, including three seasons with over 5 WAR. A mix of quality defender and strong hitter, Peralta saved over 40 runs defensively in his career and finshed with a 105/106 OPS+/wRC+; combined that resulted in a career with over 40 WAR. At the time of his retirement he had the 2nd most WAR amongst all SS, 3rd most HR, and most BB. His final career numbers are a .260/.327/.418 triple slash, with 1746 H, 358 2B, 216 HR, a 105/106 OPS+/wRC+ and over 40 runs saved defensively.
