JOE NATHAN - RP - Kansas City Royals - Class of 2018A three time All-Star, Joe Nathan helped the Washington Nationals win the 2013 World Series, but enters the Hall as a member of the Kansas City Royals after spending his first three seasons with the team before briefly returning for part of the 2011 season. He also played for the Astros and Braves in his career. Used as more of an all-situations reliever than an outright closer, Nathan still managed to finish in the top-5 of Reliever of the Year voting 3 times despite lacking gaudy save numbers (his career high was 29 in his lone season with the Astros). He recorded 4 seasons with an ERA under 3, and a fifth where he was a lone earned run away from breaking under the threshold. He is elected to the Hall with a career 38-54 record, 198 saves, and a 3.42 ERA in 754 IP across 664 appearances.

I agree. This was leftover from a first pass I had done at the Hall. I don't remember what threshold I had set, but I remember Nathan barely cleared it, and now I'd feel bad going back and removing a player from the list, so Nathan stays in. Much to Joe's dismay, Huston Street does not get in, despite having superior numbers. That's almost entirely due to him retiring in 2017 so he wasn't eligible until 2020.

Agreed. Once you're in, you're in! Harold Baines will tell you that.

The Nationals protest Nathan getting in as a member of the Royals.

You're as bad at this as the real HOF voters.
