ROY OSWALT - SP - Houston Astros - Class of 2016A diminutive righty who won a World Series as part of the 2008 Dodgers team, Roy Oswalt enters the Hall of Fame after an 8 year career split between 7 teams (HOU/CHC/LAD/NYM/TB/ATL/PIT). The league's first year was Oswalt's age 28 season, so he likely missed out the bulk of his prime, but he still managed to compile a strong 99-87 record with a 3.22 ERA in his 264 G (248 GS). He threw an impressive 21 CG and 7 SHO in his 1683 IP and was a top-10 finisher in the Cy Young voting 3 times in his career. Less of a pure strikeout threat than other dominant pitchers of his era, Oswalt succeeded by keeping the ball in the ballpark. Upon his retirement, only 1 qualified pitcher allowed fewer HR/9 than Oswalt's 0.636 mark.
