I like that pick. I drafted Cartaya in my other league last year and was hoping to pick him up this year in the summer draft.

I like that pick. I drafted Cartaya in my other league last year and was hoping to pick him up this year in the summer draft. I was between Cartaya and another dude. Finally decided that I lose out on the other guy because someone takes him before I can in the summer draft, I'll be ok. But if I missed out on Cartaya, I'd be pissed. Doubt the other guy makes it back to me, but here's hoping...

Going after a grinder with some upside... With the 13th pick the Seattle Mariners select Sam Hlliard (OF), out of the Rockies system. #grindernation APPROVE, JIm

I’m on the clock, but I hope you all like waiting....I’m about to ZIMM up this draft BIG TIME!! Even if you speed it up, I'm definitely goin to ZIMM it up as well. Working two jobs, a harvest to trim, and a pregnant wife is killing my free time.

Love the Diego pick. I was ready to pick him at 4 when I shifted to SS.

Looks like everyone has been reading MLB Pipeline 30 prospects to breakout

I had Bracho in the top 5 on my board and couldn't wrap my head around why he kept falling in this draft. He's got all the tools, the maturity and the discipline it takes to be a star in this game. IMO, he's the steal of this draft at this pick.

Other than the obvious, a lot of my top 30 for this winter are still on the board. Either I'm a genius or an idiot... both can also be an option.

Looks like everyone has been reading MLB Pipeline 30 prospects to breakout Excellent. I can only hope Fangraphs releases a "Top 20 17-Year Old Latino Farmhands you need to Draft Immediately" article ASAP. That should occupy the majority of remaining GMs picking prior to me. JIm

Looks like everyone has been reading MLB Pipeline 30 prospects to breakout I actually had not seen that list until just now. I like it, though... I have a couple guys on there, just took another (Cartaya), and have a few more from that list in my personal prospect rankings. Either my amateur scouting has taken a turn for the better... or MLB Pipeline doesn't know what they're doing.

For the first time since I joined this league I went grinder instead of prospect.
Edman was basically the only guy I wanted in this draft.

Phillies select: Tommy Edman, IF, STL Org. Motherfucker. And to Philly of all teams too. It was getting tantalizingly close enough to Pick #30 that I was seriously starting to consider he'd fall to me. Eat farts, Mike. You are the worst. JIm

I just gotta say, if you thought Edman was gonna get thru to #30 then you were just lying to yourself. LOL

If he had somehow fallen to me, I would've scrapped my Plan A and taken him without hesitation. A 2 -2.5 WAR guy that can play all over the field, late in the winter draft, saves anyone an easy 30M over the next 2-3 years. I think it was a solid pick there, considering I had him likely going 10 - 15 in this draft.

I think it was a solid pick there, considering I had him likely going 10 - 15 in this draft. If I had needed another multi-position IF, I would have taken him at 10. As you stated, just saving money over the next couple years is a boon. As it stands, I took a more volatile position for the exact same reasons I would have taken Edman.

Joey Cantillo getting drafted by Rich just means his destiny is to get hurt and never reach his ceiling, right?
