Guess the only thing I notice right away is that on the home screen that big white rectangle with the "Testing" and "Welcome to our new forum" is quite an eyesore on an all-black page.
Also, I miss being able to click on the heading of the forum (where it says National Simulation Baseball League" in big bold yellow letters) and having it take me pack to the home screen.
Other than that, the board is pretty sweet, good work Sean!

Also, if anybody was interested, I just posted the draft results from every draft since I've been here (Summer 2009 Draft).

I can probably get around to getting the Summer ones up too. And I miss being able to click the banner as well. And knowing what GMs were logged in. I tried to change the color of the ugly fader at the front, and it wouldn't let me. I at least changed what the fader said though.

If possible, I think it would be neat to make a Club section, where each team has their own board under it (may take up too much room, I don't know these things). But under General, creat a club section, then under that make a section for each team to post team information (not just trade blocks but teams could put out info on their team/players/team history, etc.

Teams could post "articles" about their team i.e. players of the month, minor league tracker (talking about their prospects), draft review, review of FA, discuss depth charts, 25 man rosters, trade board, team records, etc.

I kinda like that. Just a random place to post things about your team, that people won't feel obligated to read if they don't want to. It could also help to create a type of public history for your team (ie records, stats, etc.)

Good idea, team board would be fun and encourage active involvement.
Also I miss the 'View last 10 posts' button. Don't know if they have a similar option the moderator could turn on. I see in the header - view "New Topics", that's at least a similar quick reference.

I will look to see if I can get a board section going for that tonight. It's football time right now. And Travis, I will look around and see what I can find. Luckily (as you all can see), these boards are set up pretty similarly to the old suddenlaunch boards, so it will be easier for me to figure out.

I figured that out. Just had to turn on one function. Now it lists the total members, last 10 posts, people currently on, etc.

Changed the color of the news header.
Attempted sub-boards for teams. Didn't like the initial look. Will continue to investigate after I have updated all the league rules from the old board.

What do folks think about making next year’s winter draft a snake draft where round 2 starts with the team who picked last in round one and works back down the draft order? Or a lottery pull for round 2 draft order? Or any idea that shakes this draft up a little bit. I feel like getting the top picks in seven rounds is too much weighted toward teams that aren’t performing well. That said, I don’t really have a big problem with how things are currently constructed and dont want to rock the boat if everyone is content with how things are run now.

You already get an incentive with increased cap space based on record. Just be lucky you still get a draft pick. I planned on proposing removal of draft picks at the end of the rounds for winning franchises. Ya know, to even it out.

More or less trying to add an interesting wrinkle to the draft if possible. I feel like we can have a little more fun with the winter draft. That said, taking away picks won’t ever fly. I think we all enjoy drafting to let that happen. Lol

Selecting in the last few picks gradually wears a franchise down. All of the elite guys are long gone, and you're just trying to make the best choice of a multitude of crapshoots. I know the counterargument is that's the point of draft order based on record, so the bad teams aren't always bad, and the good teams aren't always good. The summer draft order will obviously never change, but I think this is a creative compromise that adds a strategy component to the lesser winter draft. JIm
