Just starting this now so the hate-fest towards Ty can start early. Well, the public forum hate-fest. The private email hate-fest has been going on for months, if not years.

Ty won't be able to handle this offseason. It'll be like a few years ago, when he "Owned Tier 1", then traded off most of the guys the following year. He's not ready for the pressure.
I still have my "Tyrust the Process" Orioles giveaway shirt from 2014, back before the Sixers made that saying cool.
You heard me, Ty.

I'll be out of town the week after Christmas, so don't plan on starting early.

At least twice a year, Travis goes out of his way to remind us that he’s one heartless son of a bitch.

Reminder:
The Winter Draft starts next Monday. I've gone through and added assigned days for each team, but since the start date has been listed for weeks it was pretty easy to figure out when you picked anyways. Once it gets started, if the team in front of you makes a selection you are free to make your pick, (as long as they didn't choose an ineligible player) you don't have to wait for your assigned day.
No one that is free agent eligible (26 years old this year plus either 2 years in the majors or 5 in the minors) and no international players that have NOT played in the States yet (like Luis Robert). Also no college players.

A few years ago I intentionally waited until my day to take Moncada even though it was obvious I was taking him. This year it's not as obvious who I'm taking so I am still researching. One player is definitely in the lead but two others are in the running. I may make a pick before Monday but I wouldn't bet on it.

A little surprised Maitan didn't go first, but can't hate on the Baez pick.

Matina hasn’t been getting much in the way of positive press since his signing.

Yeah, I know, but his ceiling is still sky high.

Halfway thru the season I was expecting to take Maitan and didn't even know who Baez was. But I don't think I read a single positive report about his play or his body all summer or fall and I read he may already be moving to first base. He's not even 18 yet. So it came down to Baez, Morejon, another player, and still maybe Maitan. I think Baez has a higher ceiling than Morejon, it was too early for the other player, and Maitan just worries me. Hated to take a pitcher first because they're so injury prone, but I had to do it.

I'm going to laugh in five years when Tatis, Gore, and Baez are tearing up the Rockies and you're conflicted about it.

I personally love the Baez pick. I have wanted Maitan since I joined this league and thought for sure I was screwed when Ty went all in for the 1st pick. I did think about Morejon and another player but decided on the position player since I went SP during the summer with Wright.

I don't feel great about morejon. But from the research I did. He was the best option out there. I would have taken maitan over morejon of i had pick 2

I took him 6th overall in MLBSA last Summer and I was stoked to get him. I don't think he has #1 upside, and probably not #2, but most of these pitchers never achieve that. And I think he's a safer bet than most pitchers.

I'm hoping morejon is a 3. I'd very happy with that

Felt the top 3 picks were pretty much no-brainers. So naturally I had the 4th. There were about 4 pitchers I really liked at that spot. I don't feel Vladimir Gutierrez is the best prospect of the bunch, but I do feel he balances out my collection of pitchers better than taking a risk on a really young guy. Top velocity, great reliever floor, great performance in high A and room for growth after only one minor league season. I don't know that he's a starter, reports are good, but I'm confident he makes it as a reliever. Only concern is the flyball rate in CIN.

The first three and Gutierrez were all in my top tier of players available this Winter. I had about 13 players in that tier and I pick 20th. I guess there is a chance that one of those guys fall, but I wouldn't be on it. Soriano is an interesting pick. He's a dude, and he could end up being a pretty good player, I just don't think I would have taken him so high with some of the other guys that are out there. I haven't read a whole lot about him though, but I know he was low-90s when instructionals began last year and was comfortably in the mid-90s when they ended, so there might be even more there. If he keeps progressing it will be easier to find scouting reports on him, right now everything that I have read is pretty short.

I really like the Alzolay pick. He was in my top tier of players I was looking at. Definitely not a #1, but maybe, just maybe could be a #2. Most likely going to be a #3 though. Very solid pick. I like the Yordan Alvarez pick too. He was one of the top players in my second tier, and he was only down there because of likelihood of moving to 1B long term and I didn't like how his power disappeared when he was promoted. But, that doesn't mean he won't come back next season and have Hi-A ball solved and move up to AA by mid-season. Two very solid picks, gentleman.
I got 8 picks in my Tier 1 left, and only 10 teams picking before me. I think I stand a good chance of getting one. Wooohoooo!

I'm not too happy that Oaks was just traded to the Royals, because that surely won't help his projection. I had a couple similar players on my list, but went with Oaks simply because he's a Dodger. May have looked at another guy if I had heard about the trade before I picked. My fault, though. The trade was made last night, so not like the information wasn't out there to find.
Regardless, I need lots and lots of starting pitching this off-season. To get a guy who can be my number 5 starter for league minimum will make my job of filling out my rotation that much easier.

I had some other players in my list ahead of Corbin Martin, but I decided to go that route. Callis had him top 35 going into the draft, and Houston took him in the second with pick #56. ordered my Corbin Martin auto'd Rookie cards already...

I think Oaks traded to KC might actually be good for his value. I see a better chance of him cracking the Royals rotation than the Dodgers rotation.

Well, there goes the second Cub I had in my top tier. I was pretty sure he wouldn't make it past Rich. He's a closeted Cub fan since he lives in Iowa.
