That Trumbo trade is gonna get vetoed right? Hector Santiago sucks I like the deal! Santiago may suck, but Jim is going Full Krug again aND making his team worse. He'll have Goldy at 1B but then Myers and Trumbo in the OF. That may be the worst defensive OF in the history of NSBL. Trumbo playing the field negates all of his offensive value and actually makes it a loss. Chicks dig the longball. Too bad RH at PNC Park don't hit the long ball too often.

That Trumbo trade is gonna get vetoed right? Hector Santiago sucks I must admit, the line between what passes the means test is extremely blurry. A MLI has a chance to outperform Santiago. I think there is a decent chance Santiago has a similar WAR projection to Trumbo. On Steamer they are both 1.1, and Steamer has mostly been close to ZIPs thus far.

Total WAR over the past 3 seasons Trumbo 2.1, Santiago 1.8 If this trade had been made after 2014 people would be arguing the opposite and 2015 it would have been about even.

See? That's why the committee has always tried to not veto deals. Everyone has a different way of valuing players. Santiago isn't a good pitcher, but he provides positive value, even if only 1 WAR a season. Over the three years Scott will have him, that's 3 WAR. Trumbo as a full time player playing the field is historically a negative value player. So over the two years max Jim will have him, it's very likely Santiago provides more value.
It seems every trade now is getting ridiculed. Most trades have a winner and loser, but that is to be expected. How can the committee be expected to review every trade when value is so subjective? Many of John's deals were reviewed due to a history of trades that showed no long term plan of improving. Most trades are only vetoed when there is a great discrepancy in value. All these ones I see being agreed to now aren't at that level. We need to give teams leeway to run their team their way.

If Jim wants to stick Trumb in his outfield thats cool with me. Like Joe said, I think Trumbos awefullness on defense will negate any value he has on offense....that being said, im the guy with Holliday and Sano pencilled in as my startling LF and 3B, so this whole defensive thing can suck a trumboner.

I've been the biggest proponent of not vetoing trades unless there is collusion. Clearly there is not. Beauty is in the eye of the GM's, and while it looks to be lopsided, nobody is destroying their organization here. I think this one hit me most because I had offered a 2 WAR player for him. Grapes = Soured

NO need to be sorry, and my comment wasn't necessarily directed at you. Since the Schultz review, I would say we've been getting comments about 25% of all deals about how they are worse than the Schultz or Holt deal (and I have admitted that we should have reviewed that trade as well. It's constantly being used as the "If the Holt trade wasn't vetoed, why should this one be?". People can complain about trades all they want. It's why this thread is here. Everyone values guys different. I love the smack talk in this league and don't want people to stop because people need their "Safe Space".

I mean seriously, a LH reliever isn't worth gaining $5M in cap room, let alone that, a second round pick, and the loss of a 3B that will project to over 2 WAR per 600 PA.
Washington came out of the gate strong, but the AL East has abused them the past couple days.

Guys, seriously, the Season of Idiots was just a joke. You don't have to make me a damn prophet. I'm officially changing the name of this year to the Season of Gobshites. Maybe gobshites are better at baseball than idiots.
Also, Tommy Layne clearly OP.

I guess someone wanted to make a trade in honor of losing Philly?
Not surprising who was on the other end of it

Jesus, a guy goes to work for a day and a bunch of idiots clog this whole feed. My thoughts:
Veto everything! List of best Layne/Lane/Lain: 1. Chasey 2. Night Train 3. Diane 4. Staley 5. Penny ...885. Kiffin 886. Tommy Nobody add picks to deals (except to KC!) Committee has a rough gig, do they let teams run how the owner wants or how they think they should be run?

Are we talking "Almost Famous" Penny Lane here? Cause if so, I put her behind Diane and ahead of Jeremy Lane, who is ahead of Staley. I had to Google Chasey Lane, I honestly had no clue who it was. Tracy... don't Google that with the kids around. Jeremy Lane feels totally rebuffed by your exclusion of him. He's gonna smack you with his rubber arm!

I would still rank Tommy Layne ahead of Lane Kiffin #justsaying And Jani Lane (from Warrant) should rank ahead of them all just because of this...
