I think that Anna Benson got Kris a couple extra years of a career.

As the owner of the Brewers first round pick next season, I fully endorse their tanking and fire sale. I'm hoping for a top 5 pick.

Colby is as all-in as you can get after that trade. I think his farm system consists of nothing more than Renfroe now, though.

He still has his draft picks from two months ago though. So basically, his farm system is like that of the Angels IRL. But he has a better major league roster.

With seven deals in the last 30 hours or so, this is proving to be one of the busier trade deadline weeks we've had in recent memory. Aren't you glad we extended it, Jimmy?

I think simply announcing it helped. The deadline usually passes without my even knowing it was there.

NSBL Buyers Club Reportby Skip McMountme, NSBL beat writerI apologize for my absence. It was a combination of being paid literally next to nothing for this job, and helping my 16-year old son Jamaar with his driver's test. Here, I give a division-by-division breakdown of the activity to date. Divisions are ranked according to how many "buyers" are making moves to improve their teams down the stretch. 1st NL CentralBacking up their season-long claims of being the premiere "Man's Division" in NSBL, 4 out of the 5 teams are making moves for a stretch run. And can you blame them? You've got 4 of the top 6 records in the National League here, with only 3 teams max making NSBL's Second Season. You've also got years of rivalry, vengeance, and unrequited ambition polarizing these long-tenured GMs. FACT: Out of the 12 players added to buyers this deadline (from July 15th on), 8 of them (66%) are packing their bags for the Meat of the NL Central sandwich. Team to watch: Some say he's a hero. Others think he fell victim to a panic trade. But Reds' GM Colby just added one of the top 10 players in all of baseball in 2B Jose Altuve, long dangled by Ian's rebuilding Arizona Diamondbacks. "He fears me," remarked one NL Central rival on the condition of anonymity. "He knows he doesn't have this action locked up yet, and if he gets dropped to a 1-game Wild Card against those mouthbreathing Cubs or Cardinals, anything can happen. Hey, this is anonymous, right?" BUYERS ADDED: John Jaso, Ben Revere, Hisashi Iwakuma, Jose Altuve, Chaz Roe, Jake Diekman, Zac Rosscup, Michael Pineda 2nd AL EastWith Toronto's surprising down year (and they are still only 1/2 game out of a Wild Card, but that's probably "down" for those Hosers), this division is wide open. Yet few teams are making moves to rise to the top. "I would really like to add some players, but I'm scared after what happened to me last year," remarked one top AL exec. "I love my prospects so much that, rather than make a move to vault me to the top of the AL, I prefer to sit here quietly in my office stroking this lotus petal here. I hope that is okay with my fanbase." Like the NL Central, this is a loaded division, with all 5 teams above .500. It's so legit that 5th place Boston accounts for one of the two "buyers" in this division, bringing Big Pappy back for a retirement homecoming, and adding Greg Holland to his pen. But at 4 back in a deep Wild Card field, Thomas J. Vancho, Esq. may need to add another name before the Deadline bell tolls. Team to Watch: Toronto. Given GM Tracy's competitiveness, it would be a shocker if he doesn't at least make a run at the Wild Card, and then rely on his team's veteranosity to carry him through another AL postseason. BUYERS ADDED: Greg Holland, David Ortiz, Jhonny Peralta 3rd AL WestWith 3 top teams above .500, and the latter 2 less than 3 games out of the Wild Card, this Division has been disappointingly quiet. In fact, Texas turned into a surprising seller, dealing ace Hisashi Iwakuma for OF Kole Calhoun. "Calhoun has 2 years left on his contract to Iwakuma's 1. That offers the Rangers cost certainty. I approve of this move, as I myself played the role of seller with my team only 2.5 games out of the Wild Card. It's fun, and I know fans love it," remarked MLB GM Neal Huntington. But at least Texas showcased some action, which is more than we can say for Mariners' GM Patrick. "Every few months, he just gets really, really into Sonic Youth deep tracks, and will just sit in his room above the garage and listen for hours on end. It really consumes him," remarked his mom, Mrs. Haight. Team to Watch: Seattle. This was a 104-win team last season, which still boasts a meaty middle of the order with Chris Davis, Mike Trout, and Giancarlo Stanton. They could easily become the preemptive AL favorite with reinforcements to their rotation. BUYERS ADDED: Alex Rodriguez 4th-6th AL Central, NL East, NL WestHalf of the NSBL's divisions don't have a single buyer to date! Let's look at some of the biggest offenders and no-shows as the Deadline looms. Minnesota Twins- Committee-run, this team has had a remarkable 2016, but is being held together with bits of tape and string. They need to add a decent bat and bullpen arm to supplement a surprisingly strong rotation, and otherwise solid lineup. New York Mets- Rumored to be the architect behind the Twins' resurgence, at least you can say GM Hayes isn't simply spending all of his time upgrading the Metropolitans, because there has been no. trade. action. on this front, despite 60% of his rotation being injured. "I am 20 games over .500. Ken's Marlins are 3 over, and they're my biggest competition. At this point, I could run 5 hitters out there in my rotation, and it wouldn't matter," remarked the Bearded GM sagely. "On second thought, make sure that quote doesn't reach Miami. It appears overly brash on my part. I need to keep the natives in this division docile, so they never actually try to catch me." Colorado Smoke- Alternating between the Heat and Smoke monikers, the Denver area is definitely covered in a smog of inactivity right now. "I don't think my team needs any upgrades," remarked Rockies' GM Brian Emark over an e-mail that was inadvertently lumped into the Anonymous DNC e-Mail Leak Scandal, but was quickly separated from the others, as it had no anti-Semitic or conspiratorial content. "My team OPS is .787. I have 3 SP at or below 3.20 ERAs in Coors Field of all places. I'm doing nothing. None of these claims will come back to bite me at all," Emark replied confidently. So that about does it for this Trade Deadline's beat report! Will any other teams step up and join this Buyer's Club? We only have 2 days left to find out! (Oh, and since no division had 3 teams as buyers, here was my other McConaughey icon, just in case.) SMcMM

Another trade. Another legit player joins the NL Central.
What we are seeing here has not been witnessed since the offseason of the original Rotation of Justice. This is an arms race of an unprecedented scale.
This trade deadline extension has sizzle.

I love how all he owners have come together to make it happen to make Jimmy look ridiculous for his minor tantrum about the deadline being moved back a week.

Please bitch. Please.
Were it not for me starting another NL Central arms race, and for Skip calling GMs the hell out for being soff, soffboys yesterday, none of this shit ever would've gone down.
You should be thanking me for making the NSBL as legit as it gets.

Unless Hayes has emails sitting in his inbox he hasn't checked yet, the trade deadline has passed. Please be sure to process all your moves before sending in your MP. I will make all trades, waivers, and signings on my end before I start loading MP files. So if you sent in a waiver, make sure you waive that player, etc. Makes everything go quicker and it looks like I'll have my work cut out for me this weekend.

Am I reading this correctly, Houston is paying $15M for the right to pay Hanley Ramirez $21.5M in 2017?
That isn't real, is it?
