$5 million for a 4th round pick, and $3 million for a 3rd rounder. Interesting.

$5 million for a 4th round pick, and $3 million for a 3rd rounder. Interesting. Yeah I'm not pumped on it either, but whatever...I had cash to burn, and a 4th rounder is better than letting $5 million go to waste, or be overspent on a utility infielder

Hey, works for me. I just found it interesting that those two trades were made so close to each other. Hard to gauge the actual value of a draft pick.

At this rate it looks like you can get a first rounder for roughly 1 mil. Anybody want to sell me a first?

Hmmm.
Cain, 121 ERA+ Johnson, 116 ERA+ Cash covered to even out salaries.
Bethancourt is worth about 3.6.2013
Why is TB getting the first round pick and PHI getting the second round pick in 2014, considering the difference in Cain and Johnson (not to mention Cain's health compared to Johnson's health going forward for discount purposes)?
