Is anyone seeing any pattern with the sim stats our reserve players accrue vs. sustaining that success if you call them up in the sim?
I've had a handful of maybe 40-45 FV prospects (who carry overall ratings between 45-55 in OOPT) who mash AAA, then I call them up to the MLB level, and they sim poorly. It's not like I'm looking at 28-30 year old guys only mashing because they're too old for AAA; these are 23-25 year olds I'm looking at.
I'm to the point where I'm likely to stop looking at AAA stats because they are forbidden fruit in terms of MLB sim success, but I wanted to see if anyone else has found otherwise. Thanks!

I'm playing a save on my own, and I'm in 2036 in that. I've learned that AAA stats don't really matter when you call them up.

Matt Mervis says otherwise

Matt Mervis says otherwise It could be different when you're playing a long-term save. I'll have a 22 or 23 year old dominating AAA, so I call them up and they absolutely bomb. Could just be because it's their first taste in the majors? I've started to try calling those players up in September to get them 10-20 AB's, then start them in the majors the following season. Haven't done that enough to see any pattern yet, though.

I've never investigated the AAA success rate. I do feel like AAA has always been a hitters league and just figured it was the sims or leagues I was running not necessarily a programming distinction. But I don't know.
