Tier 1 of FA (aka Top 10 FAs) is open forum bidding. There are no limits on the number of bids per day.
2023 Top 10 FAs
Week 1
Edwin Diaz - RHRP
Carlos Correa - SS
Kodai Senga - RHSP
Francisco Lindor - SS
JT Realmuto - C
Week 2
Clayton Kershaw - LHSP
Max Scherzer - RHSP
Kris Bryant - OF
Carlos Rodon - LHSP
Willson Contreras - C
Rules Overview -
1. During Tier 2 FA, all contracts must be a minimum of 2 years.
2. During Tier 3 FA, all contracts are allowed EXCEPT MLIs.
3. During Tier 4 FA, all contracts are allowed and MLI requests are accepted.
4. Players are Free Agency eligible if this is their year 26 season. All birthdays are considered to be 1/1 in NSBL. If they were born in 1997, you can sign them.
5. International free agents signed by MLB will be FA eligible with the "buyer beware" caveat. International free agents signed in real life that do not appear on an MLB Roster will become draft eligible (if they meet age requirements).
6. If you place a bid an a player already owned, it is unlikely I will catch it before I process bids. There are no re-bids.
- When checking on a player to see if he is already on a roster, please use the PLAYER INFO tab on our roster spread sheet. Use Fangraphs to verify the spelling of the name. CTRL-F on the PLAYER INFO tab and type in the name (last, first).
7. You need the following information to make a bid on a player. All these fields are required.
- NAME
- Position
- Age (base on their 1/1 birthdate)
- per year salary
- number of years offered
- ooption yes or no
8. It is important to complete bidding wars in a timely manner. The expectation is communication. If there is a delay, just let the other person know. If you feel there are special circumstances regarding a delay, please let me know and I'll try to assist.
9. You are responsible for your own roster limits and cap space. I will do my best to update rosters with new signings, but at the end of the day you are responsible for your signings. If you see any potential money issues, please let the committee know before FA starts.
10. Bidding wars are considered resolved when both teams have posted and confirmed the terms of the winning contract. I will not accept email confirmations.
You can submit 3 total bids per day. They can be for new players or counter bids on players from a the previous day.
NOTE - as the guy doing FA, I request you try to submit all your offers in the same email. It's just more efficient, damnitall!
