Will be a bit before the next pick is made. Hoping to hammer out a trade involving it, just need to clear some late stage details. Sorry for the delay

This round has about cleared out my draft board.
Misiorowski Beavers Encarnacion-Strand Julien McGarry Wagner
I thought one of them were going to make it to my pick and hoping another would make it 4.30.
You all are good.

I mean, eventually, I will get a prospect who can hit. So that is where I went with Encarnacion-Strand and Julien. I am still sad about Colas.

LOL @ Ty's board getting wrecked like an MTG marriage after she meets a new personal trainer.

LOL @ Ty's board getting wrecked like an MTG marriage after she meets a new personal trainer. To be fair, it's not just Ty's board getting wrecked. I just made an impulse pick because of players leaving my board so quickly. Now I'm gonna have to take time to actually try to figure out who is going next as we head into the late part of the draft where I have most of my picks. It's not a fun game. Not at the moment, at least.

With our summer draft expanding to 5 rounds this year (awesome), we might want to consider moving our format in future years to something like how MLBSA does it. Over there, multiple GMs have their picks due the same day, and they know that day in advance. You can submit early, and if everyone submits early, the draft moves faster.
Granted, they have 10 rounds over there and we have 5, so I don't think we'd the 5 GMs due per day like they have. 2/day might be a good start.
I ask, because this draft feels like its really ground to a crawl. If every GM takes nearly their full 24-hour window, we barely get through 1/5th of a round in a full week. Thanks,
JIm

Thanks, JIm Why are we in a hurry? Everything we do in NSBL ends up finishing faster than anticipated and then we have dead air. I appreciate the sentiment, but we literally don't need to move faster.

Okay Sean, thanks for your response.
I blame MLB on this more than anything. I really loved having the real-life draft on June 6th. Having it now in mid-July just pushes everything uncomfortably back- especially for those of us with kids in school.
By the time late August rolls around, I'd rather be focused on fantasy football and NSBL pennant chases, rather than digging into the back ends of teams' Top 30 prospect lists, but I know others may not feel that way.

Dammit. Edgar Quero was the other guy I was considering with my 2nd round pick.
I sat through the entire 3rd round without any of my top guys getting picked, only to see one fly off the board right at the start of Round 4.
Damn good pick. Wish he was mine.

Finally got around to adding the last 35 or so picks to the rosters to catch us up. Please double check to make sure I added your newly drafted dudes and spelled their names right and shit.

Some changes I made: Nelson Vazquez (AZ) --> Nelson Velazquez Also changed the way the spreadsheet works a little bit, should be easier to fix changes globally now (I hope). None of the displays should be different though.

I really like the way Red Sox Tim is drafting.
TOO MUCH.
Glad that rascal doesn't have another pick prior to me. Slow your damn roll, Timothy.

DAMMIT. Tim just got another pick.
GMs are just giving these 4th rounders away for meh veteran rentals. I do not approve.

Bleis was one of the few guys left on my list for my two 5th round picks. Bleis was the guy I was debating before selecting Dom Fletcher. I went with floor over ceiling. Good pick at this point in the draft.

I almost took Kyle Manzardo instead of Spencer Steele earlier in the draft (2nd round). If I did not trade my 4th I would have sniped you.
Nice choice, but now I hate you.

Well, I was going to go with Tyler Gentry or Kerry Carpenter. Hopefully this doesn't burn me the way it did the last time I passed up on a Carpenter in the draft (Matt, whom Hayes luckily later traded to me).
I followed Kerry Carpenter's story all season long, and got to see him play in person at an AA game. Happy for him, and hope his success continues at the MLB level. In the end, it looks like he's DH-only, which is why I rolled the dice with Gentry instead.
Good luck, Ed. Hope it works out well, but not like, too well.

Wow, 4th round moved fast today and really cleared out my board as well. Bleis was my other option with my first pick this round. I went with the C option as that was my bigger weakness.
Williams just had TJ in December and was on the radar for 1st round looks. That's what I'm told. Hope he comes back solid.

I had no clue who I am taking at 5.10, but I knew Ibarra was going to be 5.01. I almost took him in Round 1 to make sure I got him. This is only Ibarra's second year pitching. Eric Longenhangen wrote of Ibarra back in April:
Not highly rated yet. BA doesn't even have him in the Dodgers Top 30, but I trust their development team so he's worth the first ever 5th round pick in league history.

Ibarra has been in consideration since I acquired Toronto's picks. He's such a high variance guy that I couldn't bring myself to draft the upside. He was my target for 5.07. Great value here and the correct time to pick him.

Legit, that was back to back picks that were top of my board. Really good drafting this year. Lizarraga might be really special. Completely jealous right now with some teams' drafts.
