Travis kindly reminded us in a committee email thread that we need to address the new minimum wage for players. This is important as it impacts a lot of players and potentially means we need to rework minimum bids in FA amongst other things.
Some topics to discuss -
Should we jump to $700k and then increase by $25k a year until we hit $800k?
Should we just go up $50k a year until we hit $800k?
How should we structure min bids for free agency during the transition?
How should we have handle players who are still in their XXX-3rd years as they will be greatly impacted by the new standard?
I know Travis has some idea of how he wants to do it, so we would like to hear from you guys. People in other leagues, please feel free to tell us how they have been handling it.

I think I want to treat FA min bids as though we are already at the $800k mark in 2023 and beyond. Then it can realign with the league minimum once we are caught up.
1 year: $1.600 (double salary of xxx players) 2 years: 1.900 3 years: 2.200 4 years: 2.500 5 years: 2.800 6 years: 3.100 7 years: 3.400
I'm also in favor of capping contract length at 5 years. As I have previously stated, I don't think this has significant impact in reducing the burden of "albatross contracts," but I think it is good for player movement and the overall health of the FA system.
Post thoughts! Please!

I think younger players (under the age of 28, or whatever age makes sense) should be allowed to sign for more. Vlad Jr. will hit free agency in NSBL at either 26 or 27, and a player like that should be allowed to sign for more than 5 years.
