The NSBL Hall of Fame is proud to elect 2 players in this year's class!
IAN KINSLER - 2B - Toronto Blue Jays
Kinsler played 13 seasons across 8 teams (2007 - 2019, SD/CLE/MIA/SF/NYY/TOR/CHW/OAK), but made his most significant contributions north of the border with the Blue Jays. A 5-time All-Star, Kinsler's career was notable more for his consistent performance rather than an intense peak, although his 2012 season where he won a the AL's Gold Glove and Silver Slugger award, while also hitting 38 homers and stealing 34 bases was a solid peak nonetheless. At his time of election, Kinsler is 9th all-time in WAR amongst hitters with 51.7, 10th all-time in 2B with 437, 10th in runs with 1146, 12th in hits with 2114, and 14th in SB with 312, making him one of the premier leadoff men of his generation.
MIGUEL CABRERA - 3B - Cincinnati Reds & Oakland Athletics
One of the greatest pure hitters in NSBL history, Cabrera played 14 seasons with 8 teams (2006-2019 - SD/ATL/TOR/CIN/BAL/OAK/CHW/MIL), but was most productive in his 4 seasons in Oakland and his 2 seasons in Cincinnati. His 3 year stint with the Orioles and his 2 years spent with the Blue Jays also resulted in World Series rings for the slugging corner infielder. His list of trophies is as long as it is impressive, 9 All-Star selections, 8 Silver Slugger awards, 5 Hank Aaron awards, 3 MVP trophies, 2 Gold Gloves, and a Triple Crown. The NSBL record books will be sure to feature Cabrera's name well into the future; at his time of retirement he is 2nd all-time in WAR amongst hitters (74.1), 2nd in hits (2600), 2nd in runs (1322), 2nd in RBI (1467), 3rd in HR (468), 3rd in 2B (490), 6th in BB (931), 3rd in AVG (.301), 12th in OBP (.369), 2nd in SLG (.514), 5th in OPS+ (143), and 5th in RC+ (147). Cabrera is an inner-circle member of the exclusive Hall of Fame, having the most Black Ink and Gray Ink of every player elected thus far.
