Congrats on a great season Mark. Too bad about all the injuries. The Baseball gods are fickle. I'm sure we will meet again next year in the ALDS, it seems like we always do.
I'm all set. Let's hopefully get the bad taste of last year's ALCS game 7 fly ball walk off out of my mouth.

My team is really in a tough spot with injuries. I'm down to three usable starters after the last round against Tampa. I also lost two key hitters in Pinder and Santander. Santander was my starting DH and Pinder was my series MVP against Tampa after hitting 3 jacks. Judge won't be back until Game 3, so I only have one bench bat left until then.
Santander and Pinder will be back if I can draw this out to 6 games.
But I trust my guys to give it their all. I'm probably going to lose 4-1 in this series, but I wasn't supposed to make the playoffs. I wasn't supposed to beat Tracy. I sure as hell wasn't supposed to beat Connor. And now I'm not supposed to beat Matt. Maybe I'll be surprised one more time.

Pirates fans left PNC Park entirely stunned last night, after Pittsburgh's furious comeback from an 11-0 9th inning deficit fell short.
No changes. Greinke on the hill for Game 2 of the NLCS. Need this one,

Brutal game 2 loss on an error and a wild pitch but, hey, all losses this time of year are brutal. Greinke and Kittredge were both real good and the PITT pen was better.

I love the fact that Joe and Ed want to sim this on Thanksgiving Day itself. That's dedication that you simply don't get in other leagues.
New MP sent in. Will John Gant's Beard (capitalized out of respect) be able to handle the HEAT in Miami tonight? Only time will tell.

In my 12 game 2 test sims with Antone, I went 7-5. Worst he did was 4 runs in 4.1 innings. Best was 0 runs in 6 innings.
This outcome (5 runs in 2.1 innings) seems to be the outlier of the small sample size I ran.
Strasburg on the mound and Judge back in the lineup in game 3.

I ran about 20 test sims tinkering and adjusting. Nothing seemed to work. I lost probably 16 or 17 of the tests. I'm glad I won game 3 but it's only delaying the inevitable. Matt has a better team and will beat me. I won't give up and I'll continue to tinker, but it's going to take a miracle to beat him.

Just got done talking with some of the guys from the visitor’s clubhouse. Lucas Giolito was apparently so pissed off that he threw a laundry cart and yelled,
“Tomorrow night, you will all follow me into Gehenna, as we suck the swollen mammaries of the goddess of victory while dining on the souls of our enemies!”
I’ve never seen the team so scared shitless. Chris Taylor called his mom on the spot, and told her he loved her. Ramon Laureano is covering his locker in holy water, speaking incantations in the Spanish tongue, truly thinking the Chupacabra has incarnated in human form.
Expect a fierce fight from the Pirates in Game 4.

Switched things up and took a page out of Connor's playbook. Went with a bullpen game in game 4 since I only got 3 simmable starters. I had to run a lot of test sims to see how to do it though. I knew Keller would give up runs, but if Weaver could avoid it and no other reliever suffered a bad inning I knew I could win. Never expected the offense to show like it did though.
I don't expect to win game 5 against Verlander. But if Antone can pitch okay in game 6 when I get Santander and Pinder back, then maybe I get to a game 7 and Strasburg against whoever Matt gets to cover for Mccullers.
I may have a chance after all.

I don’t want to Zimm up the sim for everyone else, but I’m down at our cabin for hunting tomorrow, and the DM software is on my home computer. Joe, the only hitter who is actually hitting for me is Sam Huff. If you can just make sure he’s vs LHP and vs RHP- instead of a platoon with Posey- then we can roll meow for Game 5. Kershaw to the hill for Game 5. Ed, the only Miami Sound Machine you’ll be hearing is the sound of my 26-man roster motorboating your beautiful women as we take Game 5 from you on our way out of town. JIm |
