5-1. Handidly swept Cleveland and then took 2 of 3 from the Jays (despite being outscored 10 to 13 in the series). Baltimore and Toronto both lost ground, so I now sit with a healthy 7 game lead in the division heading into the all-star break. The good: I was going to say the hitting, as we hit 10 homers and OPS'd .802 while having a 23:36 BB:K ratio, but I think I have to give it to Alex Wood. After a severely disappointing first half of the season, he rebounded this week with 7.1 scoreless innings, only allowing 2 hits and 3 walks while striking out 8. Welcome back Alex, you've been missed. The bad: Cy Young candidates Yu Darvish and Jeremy Walker each imploded this week. Darvish only lasted 3.1 innings, only struck out 1, allowed 5 runs on 8 hits and a walk. Walker wasn't much better going 4.1 and allowing 4 runs on 9 hits. Walker struggling in the second half would definitely make managing in the playoffs an easier task, as I don't know if I could justify him not getting a rotation spot if he kept up his 1st half performance (14th in rWAR thus far), despite only middling ZiPS. Coming up: I believe most teams will have 4 days off, so remember to reset your rotation if you are so inclined! Then I head to Hotlanta for a 3 game set
Weekly Leaderboards are updated: Week-By-Week ChartsBest week: ATL, 5-1, +0.4% World Series Odds (+2.4 wins added to mean win projection). Also Considered: TB, LAD, MIN, CHC*, BOS* (good week for some tanking squads) Worst week: AZ, 1-5, -2.3% World Series Odds (-2.7 wins subtracted from mean win projection). Also Considered: CLE, DET, TOR, LAA, COL, OAK

Does anybody have any of the early early early excel rosters? From 2003, 2004, or 2005? I'm mostly just interest in who played for the 2003 Astros, 2004 Mariners, and 2005 Red Sox, so I can give each of their player a "World Series ring" in my database. Not hugely important, but figured it will be a nice addition to the "awards"

I’ll try to check and see if I still have them.
This is the week that seems to trigger the Jays slide out of the playoffs every time I run it. Looks like it is going to happen for real now too
2-4 week vs Bal and TB.

My memory says that Tracy was the one who created it for us early on for the 2004 season after the takeover was complete and we had a new committee in place. Me, Sean, Tracy, Jim, and.... Jay? Patrick? I wanna say one of them was the fifth member.

I'll check my old email accounts and look far any of my old external hard drives.

From 2006 to present, there have been 7 players who have won 3 world series rings. First person (if anybody) to get all 7 gets a prize*
*no idea what sort of prize

Found lots of double winners, just never saw an obvious third WS win. It was probably a guy who won it on three different teams over a span of ten years like Corey Dickerson who I know won two. David Ortiz David Wright Scott Baker Ryan Raburn Chris Carpenter Dan Uggla

Also, to be "eligible" for a ring, you have to have played in at least 1 game during the regular season for the team

Raburn is a DH on the 2007 Blue Jays. Nevermind. Yeah he is listed as active on the DMB roster, but when I click, it's all zeros.

Nick Yorke will go down as the steal of this draft.
May: 195/264/220 June: 348/446/507 July: 358/448/519 August: 414/500/862
He's hit twice as many homeruns this month than he had all season combined.

This will only prove that skipping "obvious overdrafts" is a bad idea as Yorke should have never been available. Highly entertaining.

Mark Melancon for #7? I know he has 2, both with Washington I was looking into him last night. Couldn't find a third. Spent too much time with the Yanks. Melancon is not one of them: Mark Melancon: 2013-Washington Nationals | 2017-Washington Nationals

The other two were:
Drew Pomeranz: 2016-St. Louis Cardinals | 2017-Washington Nationals | 2018-New York Mets and Matt Murton: 2006-Toronto Blue Jays | 2008-Los Angeles Dodgers | 2010-Houston Astros
I have now filled in all awards since 2006. In years we did not vote, I used some basic rules to determine winners, so we have the following awards back to 2006: All-Star rosters Cy Young Gold Glove (since 2011) Hank Aaron MVP Reliever of the Year Rookie of the Year Silver Slugger
I did not fill in the GM of the Year award, so that award is only present for 2009, 2012, 2017, 2019, and 2020.
As we stand right now (need to make sure the backfilling of awards didn't have any significant bugs), the two most decorated players in NSBL history (at least in terms of individual awards) are Miguel Cabrera and Mike Trout:
Miggy: 2007 (All-Star) 2007 (Silver Slugger) 2008 (Most Valuable Player) 2008 (All-Star) 2008 (Silver Slugger) 2011 (Most Valuable Player) 2011 (Hank Aaron) 2011 (All-Star) 2011 (Silver Slugger) 2012 (All-Star) 2012 (Hank Aaron) 2012 (Silver Slugger) 2013 (All-Star) 2013 (Most Valuable Player) 2013 (Hank Aaron) 2013 (Silver Slugger) 2014 (All-Star) 2014 (Silver Slugger) 2014 (Hank Aaron) 2015 (All-Star) 2015 (Silver Slugger) 2016 (Silver Slugger) 2016 (All-Star) 2017 (Silver Slugger) 2017 (All-Star)
Mike Trout: 2011 (Gold Glove) 2013 (All-Star) 2013 (Silver Slugger) 2013 (Gold Glove) 2014 (Silver Slugger) 2014 (All-Star) 2015 (Silver Slugger) 2015 (All-Star) 2016 (All-Star) 2016 (Silver Slugger) 2017 (Most Valuable Player) 2017 (All-Star) 2017 (Hank Aaron) 2017 (Silver Slugger) 2018 (All-Star) 2018 (Silver Slugger) 2018 (Hank Aaron) 2019 (Most Valuable Player) 2019 (Silver Slugger) 2019 (Hank Aaron) 2019 (All-Star) 2020 (Hank Aaron) 2020 (Silver Slugger) 2020 (All-Star) 2020 (Most Valuable Player)

Matt Murton??? Basically my thoughts exactly. I used to always get Matt Murton confused with another corner OF/~100 OPS+ guy from the same era...but for the life of me I can't remember who it was anymore. Spent a good 20 minutes today on baseball reference trying to figure it out but had no such luck.
