I don't really want to trade Stanton, but looking at my team and the other teams in the NL, I'm just really not sure I have any realistic chance at a World Series appearance in the next three years that I have him. My pitchers probably won't be ready for 2 to 3 years, and even then might not be pitching up to their ceiling. So I think the wise move would be to let Stanton go via trade.
His contract isn't small. He is due $38 million through 2023 with no option. That's probably about what you would have to pay for him on the open market so he's not overpaid, and if he is, it's not by much.
I would be willing to pay a portion of that contract this year, but nothing in 2022 or '23. I just need to make sure I have enough money to fill holes for this season. My roster is getting a little tight so I would be okay with picks from the '22 and '23 drafts being part of the return.
ZIPS has him with a 250/347/558 line and 38 homers in only 527 plate appearances. Thats good for a 138 OPS+. They list him as a DH so there are no defensive stats, but I think he'll get LF and RF like he did last season. He was VG/80 in LF and Av/94 in RF with a VG arm rating in 2020.

Had a couple talks about Stanton, but nothing has come to fruition.
