In a single post Jim perfectly provides examples of the first Three Laws of NSBL Forums. 1st Law is derailment for the topic must occur at the first opportunity 2nd Law is insult is not limited to participants in a particular thread 3ed Law is the past is always an open topic for insult / discussion You forget the 4th Law, Jim's an idiot.

That’s not entirely correct. The full law states, “An object in motion OR AT REST...” Newton was describing that things tended to stay in their original state- whatever that was- unless acted upon. So don’t try to use the words of one of my favorite physicists to justify your fantasy baseball strategy. Newton could not have predicted baseball- let alone fantasy baseball- would’ve existed in the late 1600’s. Nor that his First Law could be thrown out the window by GMs like Patrick operating second teams under aliases. #MattKevin JIm You're not wrong, but it doesn't matter if Newton could've predicted fantasy baseball. The point stands. You can't expect something to change unless there is a catalyst to cause that change. It doesn't just have to deal with motion, but in all facets of life. Change never occurs for no reason. Even if it's someone just deciding they're tired of being fat so they join Weightwatchers to lose weight, it was still caused by an internal decision to change that caused a physical action. I think the same applies to these games in a way. Sure, of course some is randomization, but I think some of it comes down to changing factors that cause those random outcomes. Moving some parts around to see what works and what doesn't. Crap like that.

Just remember, each sim is a small sample size. Program was designed to run hundreds to thousands of simulations to establish likelihood of outcomes. I ran preseason test sims last year where my team was supposed to compete for the division. Once lineups were set and the real sim started, I couldn't get out of 3rd place except for like 20% of the time. There is always going to be variance. Guys aren't going to perform 100% to their projections. Just roll with the punches. Check your upcoming opponents' MPs before submitting your own. Make changes as often as you think necessary based on your upcoming matchups. The only thing that changes week to week on the sim are your matchups. Otherwise, this thing is just a complex random numbers generator that hates me! IT FUCKIN HATES ME!

Also there's the performance probability percentiles for each player too. +/- 20% of their projection can be expected, but, it's even still statistically possible for a player to perform outside that range, especially given the small sample size of a season. We're also evaluating players based on their current team and park projections. not our park projections. FIP and OPS+ still doesn't put them in our parks for 81 games.

Get over it!! Jesus fucking Christ it's been 3 years (at least). I ran both franchises and never colluded or made an unfair trade (unlike the predator GM's trying to take advantage). Your stupid comment doesn't even make sense anyway! 1. You will always be Matt Kevin. 2. Matt Kevin is right up there with Michael Vick's "Ron Mexico" as my favorite aliases of all time. 3. Since you received quite literally zero punishment from NSBL for doing this and getting caught at it, I reserve the right to continue to bring it up from time to time. Suck it, Mat----err Patrick, JIm

Leave Patrick 2-Names alone! At least he isn't a Pirates fan! You wouldn't be giving him so much shit if he had used Brian Ryan as his alias. Or Mohammad Mohammad. Or Nicholas Venezuela. Or Cher.

Love that COL / NYM trade. A challenge trade for sure, but I'm a huge Asa Lacy.Sometimes you wonder about KC's ability to develop SP, but what's not to love about a big lefty with great stuff and a high ceiling worth sitting on. Should be an interesting trade to look back upon.

What a garbage trade. Way to undervalue Asa Lacy. You didn't even wave him in my face when you inquired about Dom. Crazy sauce.

I hate to see any player suffer a major injury but I’m glad I got off the Forrest Whitley train. Wish the kid all the best but he’s the most up and down prospect I’ve had since joining nsbl. At least Tj isn’t as scary as it used to be.

All this arguing over something testable.....I'll try and rig up something to test this in the next few days Ended up making this more complex than necessary, and thus it is taking longer than expected. The tl;dr is....zips matters a lot and in season performance matters a little. A boring answer, but I'm a boring person and data often says boring things. I'm working more to define what "a lot" and "a little" means in better terms (which is why it's taking a while....plus I've been working on this like 15 min a day), but since jason wanted a graph, here's a shitty graph:

so much for waiting 48 hours for a trade to be processed. TOR/PIT processed within minutes... I hadn't even had enough time to decide whether the nothing that Pit got was worth my time to ask for review. Since they're very easy to undo if an issue does come up, I've been processing trades immediately since the beginning of last year. I do wait 48 hours to move them into the confirmed section on the board.

I had two fantastic offers for Baez. This was one of the toughest trade calls I ever had to make. I felt like the woman in The Bachelor finale, deciding whether to give my rose to Tracy or Colby. Colby, I know that I broke your heart. But you will recover, and the prospect you offered me will now likely become an elite superstar, because that’s how it usually works for me in trades. My love always, JIm (PS Pirates approve. Thanks T.) I looked at Tracy’s roster after you made your decision and I said there’s two prospects I wouldn’t be mad getting turned down for. You got one of them so no hard feelings. Hugz Colby

don't bother trying... shit, a new Twins Marketing Slogan. It's better for the other GMs trying to win if you continue to plead "contagious apathy" rather than trying to win.

apathy? are you trying to tell me how to run my team?!?! Im rebuilding, the window is certainly not right now CLE is going to sign ALL the free agents and finish at least 2 games ahead of me this summer. I am considering entertaining offers on Rutschman and Soroka. how that for progress. Yes, I am telling you how to run your team. Just do it!

MIL gets picks 4.04, 4.05, 4.06, 4.08 and Will Wilson MIN gets MIL 2022 2nd and Tyler Freeman Brewers Approve, like a lot. This is one of those trades that makes everyone uncomfortable. Like when one guy interrupts a guy telling a racist joke at a dinner party, only to share a joke about how women shouldn't vote or own property. What adds the most sizzle to this trade is Minnesota claiming they are rebuilding two posts up, only to trade away 4 draft picks in a single move. Vintage 20-something, mid 2010's Sean Ramsey would've highly approved JIm

Patrick,
I re-e-mailed you to both addresses after you said you never got the original e-mail, and I still didn't hear back from you. Then I see you just made a deal with ConnorDog instead.
Please go eat a penis, preferably Matt Kevin's penis. The only thing that makes it satisfying is that you not only gave up the best player in your deal, but also two draft picks- including a 1st rounder- for some reason.
You should've dealt with me. Connor basically bent you over sideways, and made you yell lines of code for the whole league to hear.

Woah.
Easy Mike, easy. I think you reached your apex with the Upton trade. This seems a little overly aggressive.
We sorta' have the whole "Top Team in Pennsylvania" thing cornered. Not sure what's going on here.

Houston trades Cam bedrosian and remainder of his 2021 salary To Texas for Daniel poncedeleon and the remainder of his 2021 salary And 1 mil in 2022 Is this the league's first recorded instance of a trade being completed at a bowling alley?
