As of this post, you can feel free to send in bids for the first day of Tier 2. My bids have been submitted, and we're ready to roll.
GO!
A few notes & rules:
- The first few days of Tier 2 are by far the toughest for the person handling all the bids, emails & posting. So please be merciful.
- Some rules.
1. For the first week of Tier 2, all offers must be at least 2 years.
2. Three bids/offers per day for each team. For days where counter offers come into play, any counter offers are included in that 3.
3. A player will be considered to be free agent eligible if he has reached 26 years of age (all birthdays are considered January 1 in the NSBL to eliminate any confusion), and one of the following: (a) any part of 5 different minor league seasons (b) any part of 2 years in the majors.
4. International players that made their stateside debut AND played in the majors during their debut season are free agent eligible.
5. Check below for minimum salaries on each contract length.
- The most common mistakes are bids on players that are already owned. If you bid on a player that is already owned, that will be a wasted bid for that day. You'll see that your 3 bids each day are precious commodities so wasting one hurts.
- RIGHT BEFORE YOU SEND IN YOUR BIDS FOR THE DAY, DO ONE LAST CHECK (use CTRL-F) TO CHECK IF A PLAYER IS OWNED. IF IT'S A NAME THAT COULD BE MISSPELLED,
TRY DIFFERENT VARIATIONS, SINCE JOE IS A HORRENDOUS SPELLER.
- We realize that there are players that are listed as free agents and are also shown on someone's roster. If that's the case, let Joe know so he can fix the spreadsheet. If that happens during free agency, there's a very good chance that the player is already on that roster, and NOT a free agent.
- I check just about every player who gets a bid to confirm eligibility. IF I CATCH A BID ON AN ELIGIBLE PLAYER, and I catch it in time, I may send you an email to let you know. This would be a favor to you and would save you from wasting a bid. Some days, I don't get to the bids until later in the day and this won't be an option.
- PLEASE include all the info listed below for each bid. (Position also helps for more obscure guys)
- We will have 20-30 players each day getting bids. Lots of bidding wars throughout the week. I understand that life, work, kids, etc take priority sometimes, but do everything you can to respond the counter offers quickly. Its not fair the leave a GM hanging, especially if they have other bidding wars going on.
- Keep track of your cap situation. If you go over and are unable to get under the cap, the most recent free agent signings will be cancelled to get your salary back down below the cap.
- Bids for the first day will be due on Monday at 10 pm;
- We have had identical bids submitted in the past. The tiebreak if two bids are tied for the high bid goes to the GM who submitted it first.
For bidding wars, Day 1 winners can either concede at the Day 2 price by posting here or they can send a counter offer to the Day 2 winner. For a bidding war to end, I have to hear from BOTH GMs.
- Minimum annual salaries -
1 year: $1.000 (double salary of xxx players)
2 years: 1.500
3 years: 1.800
4 years: 2.100
5 years: 2.400
6 years: 2.700
7 years: 3.000
Send bids and counter bids to nsbl.bidding@gmail.com by 10 PM EST each day.
Remember, all counter bids MUST top the Day 1 offer. Use the bidding tab on the most recent roster spreadsheet to confirm that it does!
** Remember to include all pieces of your bids in the email! Name, Age (or Year they were born), # of years, Annual Salary, Option (Yes/No) **
