Reply to me on buyouts for DMBO said it "comes off the top" so I'm still looking into how we do it over there.

Rollover is 75% of saved money? Is that still what we are using as of this moment (before discussed changes)?

rollover is basically the majority of your buyout cost less the pro-rated expense.

Rollover is basically what Mrs. Clark does when Joe tries for some late evening action once the kids are in bed.

Sorry, I meant how much of your saved cash rolls over to next year. 75%?

Sorry, I meant how much of your saved cash rolls over to next year. 75%? If you save over $6M then its 85%. Under 6M is 100% as long as the delta was above 0. If you overspent then you lose 115% of the negative reserve.

This is how the amount carried over is figured in DMBO:
Let's again use 100.000 as the adjusted cap limit.
10% of the adjusted cap for the season is then 10.000.
If I spend 80.000 in salaries and cash transactions (Future Cash Obligations) for the season, my unspent adjusted cap is 20.000. 75% of that is 15.000.
With our bylaws, we are only able to carry over the lesser of those two numbers, so I'd be able to carry 10.000 to the next season.
Lesser of 75% saved or 10% of adjusted cap #. This is the cap # at the beginning of the season. This would fix teams saving too much. They could still save $50 mil and then use it to buy a guy out but they couldn't do that and have the weekly avg so high that they save it also.

I would be in favor of changing the rule, but we've never changed rules after the fact and then imposed them retroactively. If I operated my team outside the rules, that would be one thing, but I didn't. I operated within the confines of the rules but now people are talking about changing the rules to specifically target me because they don't like that I exploited a loophole that almost everyone knew about. People have been saying for years that we should have a cap on rollover amount because they were afraid of a team holding onto a lot of their money one year to roll it over and have a big cap the next season. The majority were fine with that happening since it would be a one year boost. Now that it's actually come to fruition though people are up in arms about it. Let's change the rules, but don't punish a team for doing what was allowed. I would have done things differently if the rule was different. How can you expect us to run our teams when you threaten to change the rules and apply those rules to actions we've already made? 1. You’ve bragged all year about what you were doing. 2. When the rule was created, people did not realize it would be abused to this degree, as others have said. JIm Like Jim's favorite politician, Jim is now just making things up. I have done no bragging about anything. Just like his revisionist history that I claimed to have won some free agency one season years ago, which I never did.

Sure you did. You said “I’m going to own Tier 1.”
Baltimore even had t-shirt giveaways made for it. I bought a used one on Etsy for $0.55.
On this current matter, you just got done bragging in another thread that you were going to take all 3 of my free agents, and one of Cleveland’s too, largely using money that’s you’re apparently using twice through this crazy loophole.
In short, you’re being a huge douche.

Have you even opened a roster spreadsheet from last year and looked at my roster? I DON'T HAVE A SINGLE FUCKING GUARANTEED CONTRACT FOR 2018!! I have a bunch of options I am declining and then after that, it's all pre arbitration players. Kris Bryant is my most expensive player at $1.5 million, and no one else is over $925k. I am going to have well over $100 million in cap space no matter how this turns out. I have almost my entire lineup and half my rotation filled already for around $8.5 million total. Get your head out of your ass before you type.

You're making all kinds of friends this offseason, Ty. But I hear your fan base is pretty edgy after a 115-loss season, so it's understandable that you're feeling the heat.

Are we still talking math? Like many threads, this has devolved into just Jimmy arguing with someone. This time it is Ty.

Just to let everyone know, it appears that we have come to some sort of compromise with the numbers. That has literally been the only reason the rosters weren't released already. We've been trying to come to some sort of reasonable fix that would piss off everyone involved, and I think we've done that. Because a good compromise leaves everyone feeling screwed. Props to Travis to continually going back and running numbers to show me because my mind doesn't work in a theoretical way, I need visualizations and actual numbers put in front of me for me to recognize stuff. This is the time of year when Travis earns his spot on this committee, and then we let him go back into hibernation for the next 11 months.
So let's give him a day or two to get these numbers into the working spreadsheet and then we should be able to get it released for all to see and then open up the league for trading, etc.
