Whew, will be interesting to see how this deal turns out for Yamamoto. I think it's terrific. My plan entering the offseason was something like 7/high 30s for YY. But then I got Gausman and it knocked me out of contention. After seeing what every other T1 guy has gone for I'm a little upset about my Gausman contract, may have overpaid, but at least the years are low

I expected Yamamoto to get more, and I think all of these T1 contracts have been pretty team friendly. The next tiers are probably going to be a blood bath as teams race to spend their money. These contracts all look pretty reasonable so far. I have too little cash to play in this tier. That'll happen when 20% of the league is vacant. Not wrong about that

And just like that Tier 1 is done. You can start sending your Tier 2 bids in anytime but they aren’t due until 10pm Monday Night.

I was hoping to get Yama, and had the cash to keep going, but I took a good luck at his Spring Training numbers, and then again saw what happened today and thought better of it. He has had strong K numbers his whole time in the States, but he gets hit hard.
I'm worried he goes Irabu on us.
And I dropped out on Sale when I realized he is only projected by ZiPS to be a strong #3 or a weak #2. I didn't want to get to $20MM on that.

I think gausman was the best SP out there he was going to get 30 u could have went 32 and I probably was done any way but u went in and said fuck this playin around.
I needed two SP to round out a shitty team.solid 2-3 in real life with Braxton and singer. As a 4-5 just missing a true ace for this year I liked both of my contracts.

as a reminder:
Rules Overview -
1. During Tier 2 FA, all contracts must be a minimum of 2 years.
2. During Tier 3 FA, all contracts are allowed EXCEPT MLIs.
3. During Tier 4 FA, all contracts are allowed and MLI requests are accepted.
4. Players are Free Agency eligible if this is their year 26 season. All birthdays are considered to be 1/1 in NSBL. If they were born in 1997, you can sign them.
5. International free agents signed by MLB will be FA eligible with the "buyer beware" caveat. International free agents signed in real life that do not appear on an MLB Roster will become draft eligible (if they meet age requirements).
6. If you place a bid an a player already owned, it is unlikely I will catch it before I process bids. There are no re-bids.
- When checking on a player to see if he is already on a roster, please use the PLAYER INFO tab on our roster spread sheet. Use Fangraphs to verify the spelling of the name. CTRL-F on the PLAYER INFO tab and type in the name (last, first).
7. You need the following information to make a bid on a player. All these fields are required.
- NAME
- Position
- Age (base on their 1/1 birthdate)
- per year salary
- number of years offered
- option yes or no
8. It is important to complete bidding wars in a timely manner. The expectation is communication. If there is a delay, just let the other person know. If you feel there are special circumstances regarding a delay, please let me know and I'll try to assist.
9. You are responsible for your own roster limits and cap space. I will do my best to update rosters with new signings, but at the end of the day you are responsible for your signings. If you see any potential money issues, please let the committee know before FA starts.
10. Bidding wars are considered resolved when both teams have posted and confirmed the terms of the winning contract. I will not accept email confirmations.
You can submit 3 total bids per day. They can be for new players or counter bids on players from a the previous day.
Here are your minimum bid requirements for 2023.
1 year: $1.400 (double salary of xxx players)
2 years: 1.900
3 years: 2.200
4 years: 2.500
5 years: 2.800
6 years: 3.100
7 years: 3.400
7 years is the maximum contract length.
Starting with T2, send all bids (new and counter offers) to nsbl.bidding@gmail.com by 10 PM EST each day.

Sorry everyone. I am traveling with the family on Spring Break and was so concerned about getting everything posted that I was on auto-pilot regarding the contract values. There are 4 bids that don't reach the threshold:
Jon Berti - who is also already rostered Randal Grichuk Carlos Santana Robert Suarez
If you look at the guidelines, it says due by 10 pm at the end. I posted them them in 2 different spots.
I may have messed up a couple of bids, but on the plus side I got to watch the Space X launch from the water. We were at Kennedy during the day but the launch got pushed back, but we had scheduled a Sunset Dolphin Cruise in the evening so we were on the water and had a great view of it going up.

Mistakes happen. I know I started making them more and more by the end of me handling FA. When you have tons of real life stuff on your mind, and aren't fully consumed by the league, it's to be expected.

I did not expect Manaea to get 15MM. Chris Sale looks like a huge bargain.

I did not expect Manaea to get 15MM. Chris Sale looks like a huge bargain. I would expect that Manaea and his entire family have found religion after signing that contract. Good grief.

BTW, any bidding wars with Detroit go through Sean.
Any bidding wars with Atlanta, St. Louis, LA Dodgers, Cleveland, Minnesota, (and potentially Arizona) go through me.
Thanks

I didn't expect Manaea to get 15 million either. I sent a bid for $12 million, and actually was going to stop there and not go any higher. Sean came back with $15. All righty, then.
Also, I hope the Arizona guy sticks with it. He e-mailed me when he first joined, asking for advice, and I tried at first. He seemed eager to learn. I just don't have time to help someone right now.

I *think* I'm all done. Should we begin posting 26 man rosters, or should we wait?

Tier 2 counters can be sent, but we are now open to 1 year guaranteed contracts. No MLI's allowed until Tier 4. First Tier 3 posting will be Monday night.

I like that Peguero signing as the last signing of T3. I wanted to bid on him but kept going back and forth. A middle reliever isn't going to be the difference between a title and not, but I think that is going to show out as good value.

How many MLIs can I roster? Who qualifies for MLI?

How many MLIs can I roster? Who qualifies for MLI? 5 Anyone who is free agent eligible is MLI eligible. EDIT: We may have dropped it from 5 to 3 now that I think about it.
