Cubs may have some more to decline later, but as of right now, we know for sure that we are declining:
Zack Collins - Catcher
Jake Bauers - First
Brian Goodwin - Outfield
Marcus Wilson - Outfield
Brock Stewart - Pitcher
Ryan Weber - Pitcher (Option)
We'll also unfortunately be waiving Jared Horn who retired a year or two ago.
Really sad story. He was the top pitcher not to sign when he came out of HS and elected to go to Cal instead. November of his sophomore year a drunk driver plowed into a bunch of vehicles including the one he was driving. His father, who had played at Sacramento State back in the day, and 14 year old brother who played too, were in the car and were both killed. In a car following them were his uncle and cousin who were also killed. Six others were injured in the pile up. Horn went on to finish his college career but never really improved. Rockies drafted him but I guess the fire wasn't there for him anymore and he retired I think after 1 season. Maybe 2?
